I have a swapped in 2005 LQ9 and 4L65 in a 2004 Z71 Tahoe that was originally a flex fuel motor. It still had the flex fuel engine computer.
Black Bear suggested the traditional tune. I sent my computer to them.
During programming, BB took the time to contact me about some particulars of my specific situation, specifically whether my engine had flex fuel injectors or 6.0 injectors. The 5.3 flex fuel injectors are 33 lbs/hr and the stock 6.0 injectors are 25 lbs/hr. I am glad installer reused the flex fuel injectors. My computer arrived back to me promptly. My vehicle was down exactly one week total.
After about a month of use, I can say that I am very pleased with the performance and Black Bear's customer service. I would do business with them again. Thanks!
