BCM took a Dump

hey all, just want to share something.

Was just playing around with my Solus Pro on lunch break.. check what Airbag sensor just caved.. adjust TPMS values etc.. I go into BCM options, the cluster freaks out and I loose the PRND bar along with service every thing starts going off lol. No poped fuses, No crank. No start by jumping the Start Relay and the only DTC is Lost Comm with BCM....

420$ for a new BCM and they charging me like 140 for install and program.

hmm interesting my ex wifes 2004 would loose communication if the accessory fuse was blown, replace fuse and all back to normal, on hers if the left side cigarette power adapter has no power then it also takes out the obd port communication. weird but true.

True story!

The OBD’s 12v source and the cig lighter shares the same circuit, guys were coming to my shop flat out when their tuners would not power up back in the NBS days. I’m glad to see the Modules are getting more forgiving in the NNBS

Totally, it was my fault. The Scanner has mutiable keys that do different things. I created the scenario what that TSB clip states. Sent the BCM into a offline state buy shorting it out over the Data Stream.
