This just got me wondering if he was to colormatch the flares I wonder what it'd look like if he also color matched the running boards??
I've never seen it done but I'm sure it's been done before

ive seen it done before. i wanted to color match them but they are in shit condition. previous owner hit them softly against who knows what. and they are aftermarket. they are larger than factory so if i replace them i will have a scratch/outline of the old one. so i havent decided what to do. i wanted to color match pretty much everything except the chrome. but i dont know. and thanks 01 for the compliment.

May as well get some Denali molding and do the full conversion if you're going to all that.
I actually kind of like the black flares for some reason....

i agree with denali short of converting my tahoe to a denali. after looking at the truck for a couple days like the black fender and bumper top. tempted to sand them and flat black them? including the lower valance. what do ya'll think of that? give me some ideas and opinions.
definately doing for now:
lightly shading tails and possibly bumper lights. would love depos and matching bumper lights but not in the budget right now. mod fund went broke on wheels and tires last week.
nervously waiting for my bb tune to get here. went with traditional 91 oct cause i couldnt afford the scan cable and really didnt want to wait. but they are out of computers anyway. doh!!
giving her a nice fresh tune up with all the goodies.
saying a prayer for the trans...

is this something like what your looking for?? sorry i dont have any night shots with my HID's but the lower housing is clear lenses with the rest of the housing painted black and no reflective surface...the uppers have reflective surfaces behind the bulb but not below or above which is painted black as well...the whole set (upper and lower housings) was like 65 bucks on Ebay..

i would if they werent all messed up. they are all scratched and gouged(sp?) from the previous owner. im just going to flat black them myself for now and not waste my time or money having them color matched.

Ive got a pic of mine with night shaded parking lamps with stock lights and one with black/clear lense parking lamps with my depo lights.... guess i never took a pic of the non shaded lamps with stock heads.
