Good Morning,Afternoon or evening in what part of the world you are in but I have a question that I find puzzling to me. In all Chevy Tahoe LTZ, GMC Yukon Denali and Cadillac Escalade Platinum have a Bose Systems that come with the Stock radio. Now I was watching Soundman Audio video on youtube and they placed an amplifier into the stock system and said it made the system sound much better. Now is that something I should do since I will be getting a 2011 model of one of these trucks since I want to hear good sound clarity or the stock equipment is ok without it. Thank you and I love this site I read it everyday for sound advice....

Michael, first, listen to the stock Bose.
If it will work for you, great. If you plan to change everything, chances are you 'might' have to change speakers as well, not just the amp...so possibly add that into your expenses.

You can always swap the speakers out that are hooked up to factory bose. From what ive seen, its not like the older bose where the amplifiers were actually hooked up to each individual speaker....stupid idea. In most cases though, when you take out the speakers and replace with new, it wont sound quite as good because the bose amplifier is playing within a certain frequency range for each particular speaker. So if you get a coax to replace the front mid lets say, you probably wont hear anything from your tweeter. In general, if you plan to swap out speakers in the car, your best bet is going to be to rip out the speakers and run it via a new amplifier. And of course like the post before me, id listen to it first to see how you like it. Because if you want more, its gonna cost ya. Hope this helps!

BabyHuey's post is spot on. They finally got rid of the stupid "amp'd speaker" idea. Those were such a pain in the arse to deal with.

Personally I think the Bose system sounds pretty good but if you want more, it is going to cost you. You have the option of keeping the factory deck with the Bose amp and changing out speakers but you'll be obligated to go with a component set to replace the tweeter and woofer that are already there. Because, as the previous poster stated, the Bose amp is already crossed over for the components so a coax would be a waste of money in the doors for example. You could add another separate sub if you wanted. You just need another amp, box and sub to do it. Depending on what you like, you could get out of there for <$500 installed. That assumes you want more bass. If you just want good sound quality, for the money the Bose system is pretty good. I used to hate Bose stuff back in the 90's but they've gotten much, much better.
