Ok guys I've pull the passenger seat track to find out why it wont work and surprise there is a more then half a dozen springs along with metal levers and locks that could be broken or not connected. Does anyone have a working diagram and pics of how this track should look so we can repair them, weld them or know when to toss them out?

No this is a 2 door the drivers side is power the passenger has 2 rails one for when you are seated to move back and forth and the other to extend the seat way out of the way for people to get into the back.

My seat operates fine, but there is a lot of play in it when it is locked back. You can kind of rock back and forth because it seems so loose and I hate it. Other than replacing it with an electric one from a 4 door (which I do want to do) is there any way to get rid of that play?

Aside from replacing the seat track for a meager 450 bucks....does anyone know how to repair these tracks...im looking for a detailed diagram or photos of how the springs should attach and how the levers should look on an operating seat track...or where you can weld them? Although I think someone should start a thread on seat retrofits for our OBS 2 door tahoes hint hint

I've tried that diagram unfortunately its not detailed enough for what goes where on this track. Btw what is an rpo number? I'll take some pics to explain my issue but thanks so far for your help!

Part # 9 is the one you need to make the seat slide all the way to the dash. Mine was broken and I replaced it when i had the seats recovered. I remember the dealership had a hard time sourcing the cable and it took a couple weeks to get one. I replaced the cable and the seat slid all the way to the dash properly for about 2 weeks. Since then I seem to be in a battle with something bending or the cable stretching and not releasing the latch completely.

just put the pic on a image hosting site of some sort and use its URL in the insert image command above where you type your responses here. or just past it in reply.

inside your glove box with a list of rpo codes if you can put them here. Or give the dealer your vin and he will print out a production sheet for your vehicle that has descriptions of individual rpo codes. Post the one here that apply to seating arrangements.

ok here is the link to the pics I have taken...three elements are in almost every pic...the main adjustment lever the passenger would grab under the seat to move it forward...then a black piece of metal that looks like it should attach to the main lever but its not attached to anything on my track...and last a gold colored piece of metal that is not attached to anything at all just sort of sitting there loose pinned by a big rivet to the frame. Yes my number 9 cable is broken and Im sure most peoples are so I pointed that out its an easy fix but unfortunately is not my main issue.

Does anyone have the ability to take pics of the underside of their passenger seat on the 2 door tahoe so we can see what the spring and lever configuration in perfect working order would look like?
