I have read almost every post on here and performance trucks regarding the swap. I am talking to the best local tunner and they are telling me to use the 6.0l harness and intake with all the dressings. This goes agenst everything I have read. I am nearing the start of this project and preping the final steps to be prepared. Like I said in previous posts there isn't many tunners in my area let alone a good one but this guy is the best in the area. I sure hope he can tune ! I am just hoping he don't know much about the swap.......

If you have tuning software, I can just sent you a stock tune that would get you up and running

I don't have the software yet but I will in the future. Everything is going to be stock. With the exception of intake and exhaust. I am not looking for wild power just towing mainly. The upgrade to the 6.0 will be enough for me. What soft wear are you using efi live ?

everything is plug and play on your 5.3 to 6.0 provided you have the same generation engine, same style intake and fuel rail setup. no need to swap the 6.0 harness..just extra work..I actually ran my 5.3 with a 6.0 PCM before swapping in the 6.0...just need the software to do it.

I have a stock 6.0 EFI Live tune file if you need it. Let me know and I can email it to you.

What year is your 5.3? Is it a flex fuel? Around 2004ish, only the flex fuel 5.3 had a fuel return line. That is why I had to use my 2004 5.3 intake assembly on my 2005 6.0 **. Also, non-flex fuel 4.8, 5.3 & 6.0s have 25 lb/hr injectors. 5.3 flex fuel injectors are around 36 lb/hr. I used the 5.3 flex PCM for about 2 months before getting a BB tune. The throttle body is the same size for all 4.8/5.3/6.0s.

Mine is none flex fuel but I plan on only useing the block and heads from the 6.0 and reuse all the 5.3 components. How well did it run on the 5.3 tune? I am going to stay with my original plan and not use any of the old harness and parts from the 6.0. I was not impressed with my conversation with the tunner I talked to telling me to use everything from the donor motor and other stuff that was crap he told me. So I will keep looking for a tunner. Don't look like the dollar is getting any better any time soon.
