Better brakes all around, easy to service the pads, the caliper is lighter, and the brake feel is improved. I had new set of brakes on the car when I purchased it so I am not comparing new vs old but I think the upsize of the rotor and the increased pressure from the 4 pistons helps to make the pedal feel firm and inspiring. My old brakes probably had some air in them as the pedal was always soft and did not brake well in emergency situations.

What vehicle did you do this on? Any modifications besides painting? My wife's 2015 Tahoe needs new front brakes and I'd love to upgrade. She drives like she's in an F1 race and eats through brakes. Wondering if this would help her out at all.

These brakes came on all 2019 and up silverado tahoe, suburban escalade yukons, its a standard replacement for the old 2 piston floating caliper set up. The rotor goes from 330mm to 350mm so that helps some. The caliper itself has 4 pistons so more even pressure across both pads and these should work better on your 2015.

On my truck given that it had already new pads and rotors, the breaking was always lacking and left a lot to be desired. Pedal was soft and mushy with no real confidence feel.

WIth the new brakes it now feels more firm and has a hard stop point where the brakes start to really grab and it allows you to bring the heavy vehicle to a stop with high confidence. I think this is 100% must upgrade given you can find these for dirt cheap. My set up was 150$ came off a new escalade with only 4mi on the odometer. I got rotors, pads and calipers in that package deal. Hunt market place for these, they do show up from time to time as dealers are doing factory brake upgrades on some of the new models and they simply throw these in the trash. Some mechanics will save these parts and resell them.

I hadn't even thought about looking for take offs. I see a couple near me for around $500. Not quite a steal, but a little better than brand new from RockAuto.

I just looked up the OEM caliper part numbers for my 2010 Avalanche and it's the same as my wife's 2015 Tahoe, so looks like I could do this swap on my truck too. Like I need more projects on the list.

Don't think of the front brake calipers / rotors / pads as a 'project', think of it as a maintenance update-upgrade -
you're literally installing even newER calipers pads & rotors onto your older vehicle. There is no downside.

Yeah, it's definitely an upgrade. But in the grand scheme of things, it's another item on the TODO that's 8 miles long and seems to never get shorter. Such is life.

What do you do about the sensor wire? Looks like these pads don't have squealers, but have a pad sensor built in maybe.
