What's up guys. Finally got a chance to clean up the Tahoe yesterday and take some decent pics since lowering it last weekend. I'll start with some pics of how she looked back in March of this year and how it's progressed to be where it's at now. I'm not finished with it, but it's getting there. We all know how this modding thing goes.... it's never quite finished. :)

Drop Kit Consists Of:
3" DJM Arms
Belltech 5305 Rear Springs (uncut)
Free Travel Mod
Front Bilstein Shocks
Rear Belltech Nitro Shocks
Front Tires 305/40/22
Rear Tires 305/45/22 <-- Will change to 40's soon

Here it is basically all stock except I had already removed the roof rack.

Then we de-badged/de-molded everything and tinted the front windows.

Then added the 22" wheels.

And now some pics of how she looks with the 3/5 drop.

Looks great man. I like that color too. It'd look sweet with a color matched grill surround. :thumb:

Thanks man. I didnt like the tire size difference at first but I barely notice it now. Not a huge difference in height.

Thanks man. I like the color also because ya dont see it on this body style very often. If I did anything with the grill shroud it would probably be that black chrome. Then I'd do the chrome on the bumpers as well. Still thinking of different things though. Might do an SS front bumper...?

Please don't do an SS bumper cover. If you you really want to colormatch, I'd recommend a paintable front bumper. I think they look a million times better. jmho.

I go back and forth with the SS style bumper cover. Some trucks I really like them and others not so much. Seem to look nice on the black Tahoes but maybe its a quality thing, ie the eBay ones dont look as good? I'm really into the clean subtle details. I want to shave and tuck the rear bumper closer to the body etc...

Nice drop. Do you have shock extenders?

No shock extenders. The rear shocks are made for the drop so are shorter. I like the color of your Tahoe lol.... Haven't seen many pics of them the same color as ours.

Looks great. Can you elaborate a little bit more on the FREE TRAVEL MOD? Also how is the ride? Stiff, soft, bouncy. I have the djm rear springs and i think they suck.

Wow,,, all the LGM colored Tahoes are coming out of the woodwork lol... I searched through all the photo albums on here looking for LGM lowered Tahoes and I think I found two total.

The free travel mod requires removing the metal bracket that the rear bumpstop attaches to. The bracket is welded to the frame so you need to cut it off with a sawsall or cutoff wheel/grinder. This adds another couple inches of free travel to the suspension. If you're lower than 3-4" in the back, you'll want to do this mod or it will bottom out easily. I like the rear springs but I think the shocks suck. I'd like to get some Bilsteins for the back to compliment the fronts.

Very nice man! she's looking really nice!

Thanks man. Been wanting to lower this thing for several years and finally made the move. Been loving the new stance. :)

Yeah, I also have the shorter shocks which accommodate the drop, but that looks like a REAL low drop.

I also have the DJM springs and I have to agree with you they suck balls. I think your set up is like mine. I have rear DJM springs with belltech street performance shocks with NO free travel MOD, and I have to say the ride quality was horrible, well until I bought some helpers bags which made a huge difference in quality. If you dont want to spend the time in doing the free travel MOD just buy the helper bags so it wont bottom out, plus it will help with the ride quality.

^^ Why the resistance to the FTM? It took less than 5 mins per side with a sawzall.

Ehhhh lazy I guess :lol2: But I might take your word for it. These past several months I've been debating on this. My Hoes rear end is sitting too high and just need to drop it little more for a perfect stance. I was thinking about some shock extenders but ill pass, ill just buy some new belltech springs once I get some cash lined up.

I hated mine at first and I added Airlift bags and they are so much better now.

EDIT - Just saw HK DEMONs post about the bags also.

I'm guessing HK is at 33-33.5" in the rear and 32.5-33" up front.
