Was thinking of running 285/70/17 on stock 2005 Tahoe rims 7 1/2,with spacers instead of purchasing rims. Can this b done?Prob going to regret not getting my wheels but would rather spend the money on other hoe projects.

I don't see why it would not work. Buddy of mines had 305s on his tahoe on stock rims.

Absolutely no problem. 285's will fit, most have a width range from 7" to 9", even though some have been mounted on 6 1/2" up to 10".

285 will fit on a stock 17 wheel with no rubbing.
