@Sgt1411 Thinkware is expensive and ugly, look at FitCamX or Mangoal both Amazon and China but fully integrated, OEM look and super fast install
I have never seen either of those but the OEM look is amazing thats far superior to what I have been buying over the years.

They have a Mangoal model for the 2025 Tahoe I'm grabbing it.

Thanks for the tip.

This is the confusing part for me,

"5th Gen Tahoe 2023-2025" is what I see on the Mangoal site. I'm not questioning that it wouldn't fit my vehicle, but I don't know why 2023-2025 is different from 2021-2022. Isn't 2025 the start of a new Tahoe generation?

Why aren't you considering the option from fitcamx?

@nomech i bought the Mangoal for my 2025, and had the fixcamx on Navigator. I feel the software is the same (although branded differently). I saw packaging was different (mangoal) didn’t drop ship from china FitcamX did. I was thinking that mangoal is the new Us distribution but don’t know. They both work, and that’s all that mattered to me.

How about from a hardware perspective are they the same in terms of camera, accessories, wiring/install?

I found the Mangoal had an OBDII port power cable but FitCamX was a fuse block power tap. The OBDII port is much cleaner IMHO.

I also got a vibe that the Mangoal would be better supported should I have an issue and was overall just a more robust product.

But they are probably made in the exact same place in China

I have to give a big thank you to the member here that suggested it, I have been running my Mangoal for a month and no complaints. It is truly a much better OEM look then my previous Thinkware cameras.

The only thing I did poorly was I installed the Rear Cam at the top of the rear hatch glass. I didn't leave enough slack in cable and when I opened the glass it pulled on the cable and the camera came off the glass so I re-installed it with more slack to allow the glass to open.

I need to watch the install videos, I was under the impression that it used the factory wiring that was up by the mirror, it sounds like that's not the case and you need to use the obdii port or tie in to the fuse block (depending on which model you buy).

I don't want to run cables from the mirror to the bottom of the dash.

I believe the Mangoal and FitCamX come with an adapter to get accessory power from the auto-dimming rear view mirror. You should only need to go to the OBD2 port or fuse tap if you don’t have support for an auto-dimming mirror OR if you want parking mode functionality which requires an always-hot power source.

You guys are both correct.

That mirror tap harness looks like an OEM part from GM, its done very well even with cable insulation and OEM looking connectors.

As you said, you need OBDII power if you don't have the Auto Dimming RVM because the power connection isn't there BUT.......if its there and you use the mirror tap power connection you DO NOT have power to the camera in PARK MODE which is what I wanted for knobs in parking lots. Every time I go park away from the idiots who cant fit their vehicles in a marked parking stall some knob has drive right over and park next to me.

Camera on and recording while vehicle is parked is important to me.

This morning I went on the GM website and did a 25 Escalade build it says way down in the description of features that my build was:

  • Connected Cameras capable
  • Requires future vehicle software update
Going through the Apps in my Ultimate and found the recorder. Its installed and ready but not activated yet.

Is this an Escalade feature only? Or is it installed and potentially available on Tahoe Yukon also?

I also noticed at the dealership the 25 Escalades have the interior camera in the overhead console between the sunroof switches which my 25 Tahoe HC doesn't have. I'm hearing through contacts in the automotive world the issue is power draw. The cameras don't draw a lot of power but the continuous recording and then compression and sending the video when prompted by the user on the mobile App when vehicle is off has considerable power implications so they are trying to mitigate.

I'd be happy with the cameras recording motion and I could go w/o the option of sending the video over the air (which I assume will only work if you have a subscription to onstar/data package/etc).

As the owner of the vehicle, I should have the ability to connect to the vehicle (when I'm sitting in the vehicle) and review footage w/o any subscriptions.

I would definitely want the connected cameras function for outside monitoring especially as a dash cam since we already have those cameras installed. I’m following this development closely because I’m holding off for now on a dash cam purchase but not for long.

I was going to hold off too but who knows how long this will take and I got concerned with not having video so I bought that Mangoal one its easy and clean to install.

Is the Mangoal and the FitcamX the same camera or made by the same company since they seem so similar and I guess both are from China.

I'm going to guess different Chinese companies but built in same place, They look very similar but internals could be different. No complaints so far on the Mangoal. Great video off the mini SD card. Like I said in previous posts, I'm very impressed with the build quality and they way they engineer their cables, looks OEM. IMHO for a couple hundred bucks its worth the piece of mind. Plus if GM gets the Connected Camera System working its going to require upgraded (more expensive) OnStar subscription that might be more then the Mangoal.

I noticed in the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe Order Guide Section "Interior" it actually now shows the interior camera is an option to order so I am going to go out on a limb and say it may still be an option for us 2025 model year owners.

If they are t the same company they are cloning each other.. Magnolia seems to be inventoried in the US and delivers very fast, FitCamX deginately shops from China. Software is interchangeable (I have both). I think I prefer Mangoal because of the fulfillment.

My buddy with his 2024 Escalade had a OTA Update pushed out on Monday this week just wondering if anyone with a 2025MY had a similar update?

I checked mine and no update available.
