2025 Tahoe Homelink appears normal but not operating

I had the same issue with my 2025 Yukon Denali. The door opener just stopped working. I disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes, then hooked it back up. It started working again has been fine ever since, months now. Also, I find that just doing a quick tap on the home icon seems to work the best. Mine now works 90 percent of the time without a second tap.

What you may need to do is erase them or go through the procedure if they don’t show up and reprogram them.

Hello again my friend. I tried to erase the code. It won't allow that feature. The HomeLink indicator symbol will appear when I get within a block from our home but will not activate garage door. I can go through the steps, but no changes are taking place.

I found this nugget on line. What caught my attention was tapping the icon 2-4 times. If that’s not it you can always to the factory reset but make sure you have any passwords saved for reinstalling.

Try locking the vehicle using the remote or the door lock switch - while inside the vehicle, then try the Homelink button?

On many GM vehicles, when the vehicle is locked (windows up or down), the Homelink button is disabled by the BCM. When the vehicle is unlocked, the Homelink button is enabled.

Hello all, I have tried all variations and no success. Last week the dash instructed us to turn off truck for an update and stay away from vehicle at least 15 minutes. We stayed away an hour; I had high hopes but no changes on the operation of HomeLink. I will eventually return to dealership for diagnostic on the unit although not happy about it. Thank you all for your suggestions.

I would like to disconnect the battery and try what

kozzy45 suggested but read something online that once a battery is replaced/disconnected the dealership often has to reprogram other items to work properly. Anyone have thoughts on that? Thank you.​

From what I understand a short disconnection is ok. Have you considered pulling the fuse instead? There’s also a factory reset option in your infotainment system. I’m not sure if it resets homelink but I set up mine to operate the garage doors when I’m close by from there.

Thank you Big Mama! I will give it a try, sounds like a great start before heading an hour to dealership and leave the vehicle for a week or so until they can get to it. I'm told they have their hand full of other issues right now.

disconnect the negative on the battery for 10min then reconnect it. it worked for me on my '25 Escalade. 1/2 of my programmed remotes would work, half wouldn't. The dealer ordered the replacement module (on backorder) so I tried the battery trick and it worked.

‘25 high Country. Remote buttons stopped working after an ota update. Disconnected the negative, the easy one where it attaches to the frame, kind of a thumb screw next to the battery box. Works like normal now.

Big Mama- dws1977-Scarey-kozzy45 and everyone for the assistance in resolving this issue! Thank you for the quick fix method! Worked like a charm! I found the thumb screw cap you identified, removed the negative battery cable, left driver's door open 10 minutes, the closed door and re-installed in reverse order. Once I started vehicle it prompted me to roll down passenger window and then roll down passenger window, Now the garage door opener function is fully operational. I would have taken vehicle to dealership but had negative response.

I called to make appointment for this and the humming in headlight, the service writer was rude from the beginning, I felt intimidated. He said they do nothing about garage door opener function on screen without GM Headquarters approval which I would need to get first. Also first come first served, no appointments, then wait 48 or more hours for them to get vehicle to tech for diagnoses. Then wait for call from advisor. I will be writing a letter to the owners of dealership as I had praised them on many platforms, the have always responded and thanked me. Other than these two inconveniences we love the vehicle, oil/filter changed at 1K-3K-6K-10K. I will be getting transmission fluid change around 20K miles.
