I recently purchased a 2011 PPV Tahoe and have a few questions regarding disabled features. I'm hoping there are ways to re-activate these, but if not then I will live, as they are all comfort features anyway:

1. Auto Lights - can this feature be re-activated? As it is now, the headlight switch only acts as an "on-off" switch and placing it in "auto" only turns the lights off.

2. Steering Wheel - the steering wheel is pretty worn, and does not have the wheel mounted radio controls. If I purchase a used wheel with the radio controls can they be connected? Is it as simple as connecting the unit, or would it involve more complex wiring?

3. Fog Lights - the Tahoe has factory fog lights, and it appears that all the wiring in the engine bay is there. However, the light & dimmer switch is the style without a fog light activation button. If I simply replace the unit with one that has the fog light button, will the fog lights then be active? Seems weird that the lights and wiring are there, but no fog light activation switch. ** I did replace the switch and the fog lights still do not work. I have confirmed there are bulbs installed, the fuses are good, and the wiring looks intact. Anything else I could check?

4. DRL - the daytime running lights do not work. I tried adding new bulbs, but it appears that they are disconnected somewhere. Anyone have any experience re-activating the DRLs. Is there a plug I can reconnect, or is it more involved?

Could the auto lights, fog lights and DRL all be disabled in the BCM?? Who could I contact to reprogram the BCM? Is that something that could be done at a repair shop, or will it have to be shipped out?

I'm sure there is more, but that's all I can think of for now.

I couldn't be any happier with my purchase!!

Thank in advance for the help!!

I just got my 2011 PPV or SSV today. Mine is a 4x4 so I've heard that it is an SSV instead of a PPV. I'm a totally newbie regarding PPV's and SSV's. I'm also new to the 2007+ body style trucks. I have had about 15 of the 2001-2006 trucks but nothing in the newer style cause I've always been afraid of the AFM system and it's horrible lifters. I have the Range brand ODBll plug in thingy that keeps the AFM off for now but plan to get it tuned from Blackbear Performance and hopefully do a full AFM delete someday
. I'm hear to learn about this new truck too. I'm following this thread.

Would resetting the BCM cause any other major issues? Would that fix the issues discussed?? (Fog lights, Auto Headlights & DRLs)

Things like the Auto Headlight and DRL Delete are programmed as RPO Codes into the BCM. One of the codes in your glove box will tell you that. To program these features back in you need a dealership and a custom calibration that the dealer requests from GM for that VIN with these feature reenabled.

One of these codes is "T62", which translates to "Lamp System - Daytime Running - Delete".

Ugh, don't mind the auto headlights feature not working, but I would like the DRLs to function, but tbh it seems like it will be a PITA and cost $$$ having to go to a dealership....

Thank you for replying!

DRL? - Yes, change out the headlights to an aftermarket one with LED light bar and you will magically have DRL. I switched to the “AmeriLite Super Bright LED Bar Projector” headlights found on Amazon. Note, you will have to buy new bulbs (LED) and they are different sizes. Anyway, they look sweet and will give you DRL. They also light up when using remote start, which didn’t work with the OEM headlights.

New Steering Wheel? Yes, find a OEM dealership selling on eBay. Buy a new steering wheel that includes the volume/channel buttons on the right. The wiring is behind the air bag. Works wonders. Be sure to disconnect your battery before removing the air bag in the steering wheel.

Auto lights? Hmm… mine worked but I had to replace the light switch knob. Pulled one from a wrecked Yukon Denali (takes 2 min) and it worked for me. I might of gotten lucky?

Fog Lights? I wish. Couldn’t find out how to do it.
