WOW - Found the tool from the bulletin but out of stock - https://www.freedomracing.com/dt-52910-manual-park-release-tool.html

Crazy... no way to push a car out of the way of traffic if it dies or tow or x, y, z Seems like it should be easier to go to neutral with a dead engine.

Well, I'm glad I understand, so if this happens to my 2021 I won't be wasting time thinking I can roll it out of the way.
looks like in the youtube video it can be done by holding the shift mechanism in just the right spot, but good luck doing to that depending on the situation at hand
I barely trust drive by wire let alone shift by wire

I found this youtube for 21/22 Yukon that shows
1) Disconnect Parking brake actuator wiring at the wheels
2) Use a wrench to turn a shaft sticking out of transmission a bit and zip tie it in that position to hold it
and then you're in neutral to push it etc. Looks legit but I don't know.

Also saw a flat towing mode youtube for neutral - pushing 2wd button 5 times 'thing'.

I'm old and never considered that I couldn't put my car in neutral / push it. Done this many times in my life to push it off the road till I could tow on a rope with a friend. Seems like the "N" button (somehow) should be designed to do this like the flat towing procedure or perhaps have a manual neutral shift lever somewhere accessible - I don't get the reason to make this so hard.

any of the button pushing methods require the engine to be running.

They are still working on it . Want showing any gas in there either which I filled up maybe 60 miles before this happened. At dealership they finally after 45 min got it running drove into shop and just kept dying so there’s probably more going on then I know but will keep everyone informed. I’m still pretty shook up it’s a very scary thing to happen and at the time I was breaking I had no idea that my back tires were locked up I was just jerking and hanging on to the steering wheel praying I could stop and be safe. I live in Minnesota and was going to Canada to meet up with my husband to go fishing almost made it probably another 45 min . Wasn’t in my familiar surroundings cell service was going to sos to a bar on my cell thank god my son got help for me for he’s been there before. I thank god I’m alive and wasn’t snowing yet and my dog is okay because it could have been a lot different outcome. Walley appreciate your feedback thanks for responding and yes was going to go walleye fishing WAS”
Hey walleye Mike wanted to give ya an update on the Cadillac it’s been awhile sorry about that. So yes they changed fuel pump modular and then last month they said they would do a total buyback because last month the fob wasn’t recognized by my fob and shut down wouldn’t start had to get it towed , any who it’s at the dealership now just waiting for them to cut me my check. Have to say they were great no depreciation geez hope not with 25,000 miles on it plus all taxes and fees. Thanks for responding to me also need to clarify because I was so shook when that happened when the Cadillac stalled it was a back and fourth motion, like if you were driving a clutch. But when finally stopped it totally locked up so not sure if if the abs was still functioning but the Cadillac was totally locked all tires when it was dragged on the flat bed. Hope that gives more clarification. Thanks for being a friend and support

Ps. Heading finally back for my fishing trip tomorrow lol hope I make it and thinking of the suburban high country 2025 model hopefully I will have better luck
Thats a long time to wait for a fishing trip...almost 9 months?

I've been on 3 since then, just got back from Canada, my XL pulled my boat like a champ the whole way. Coming from the Caddi, I suggest maybe going to a Denali vs a High Country...not much difference in price, but the Denali is a bit nicer. Good luck on your hunting for a new rig, hope it is better than your last one.
