2015 Tahoe LTZ front shocks leaking

Hello everyone,
Just had my 2015 Tahoe LTZ in for oil change and they found oil leakage from my front Magnetic ride shocks. ONLY 50,000 miles. Just out of certified warranty. Cost was around $1,400. Contacted GM and they asked me to pay $800. Very disappointed in my, over $50,000, SUV that needs this amount of work this soon. anyone else had these issues?

Hi Chad, I have 42,000 miles and was told my 15 Tahoe Ltz is front strut is leaking, they are quoting me $1800. What did u end up doing? Did you call GM and they offered a discount to $800 ? I found a GM bulletin posted for the magnetic ride issue of our vehicles TSB # pit5429 . Rough ride resulting in leak. Bulletin says to replace suspension and reset magnetic ride. I'm very upset that dealer didn't tell me about this issue and now at 42,000 miles I'm dealing with a $1800 quote to replace.

I have a 15 Yukon Denali with same magnetic suspension. At 43,000 miles I was told front two shocks were leaking. I haven’t replaced yet but I am sure I will have to soon. What price am I looking at for front two shocks? Anyone get done at an independent mechanic?

you can buy just the "shock" and then have it put in the strut by compressing the springs the cost is probably about $250 or so each for the shock (check rockauto) and then labor unless your brave enough to use a spring compressor and diy.

I brought my 2015 LTZ Suburban with MRC in for a rough ride concern....they mentioned both front struts were leaking and replaced under warranty @ ~32,000miles.

I have to say, the ride is greatly improved. I did think it was interesting that the new Front Strut part numbers have been updated, replacing the Front Strut part numbers that were originally installed. My truck was built 7/2015.

That's horrible if the shocks only last that long. I sure hope the 17 and newer ones have a longer service life....

Again, these things happen...depends on driving habits, road conditions etc. my 13 blew out 1 rear shock before 30k at 60k (now) the drivers front hub is going... its a fact of life that parts break/wear out no matter what brand automobile you own.

What number did you call at gm? I’m in the same boat. Had mine diagnosed at 44k with same leaky strut issue. Got quoted the same and have put it off. For $800 I’ll bite. But not the full amount.

I got no where with gm customer service. The funny part was after the conversation they wanted my name and address. I told them you have my vin that’s enough don’t bother sending me a survey lol. So I bought all the parts I needed off of gmpartsdirect and dropped them off at the dealership as the dealership wanted almost double the price on the parts alone. This is a job I know I could do myself but I figured there had to be some programming of the MRC so I was at the mercy of the dealership for labor. That being said problem solved. The ride is significantly better and the horrid front end rattle is now gone. It was so bad that the z71 Silverado ltz I had as a rental rode better. I hope they get this MRC figured out or eliminated for the next generation. Love the suburban but not happy with a shock failure so soon and so costly.

63k and both of mine are leaking bad....HORRIBLE RIDE now that they're both depleted! What did you go back with as a replacement????

I have a 2017 Tahoe Premier with 14,000 miles on it and my left strut is leaking!! I also have already had the fuel pump replaced and the fuel injectors in the last 6 months! I love this truck but this is really disheartening that I spent $80k on a vehicle that seems to be falling apart :(
