Hi, I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ with 130k, bought new from dealer. Front wheel bearings replaced in 2015, and front magnetic struts replaced in 2019 (rear air shocks in 2015). Otherwise all original. Truck still handles, rides, and drives great - except when going over bumps where the front wheels are not impacted equally. If they are equally impacted, the bump is dampened almost as when new. When the bump only affects one wheel, or both wheels unequally, the resulting shock/shaking is significantly greater than 'new' condition. Any suggestions for a likely culprit or starting point would be greatly appreciated.

What is the condition of your sway bar links and bushings?

Thank you for responding. All bushing on both sway bar links are surprisingly intact - not rot or cracking. As far as I can see, the only visible bushing that looks questionable is on the driver side upper control arm.

The front suspension bushes are due from time & milage. Poly is the way to go but squeaks on cold mornings if not lubed correctly with included grease.

It’s also a good time for a front / rear sway bar upgrade. You won’t recognize your truck with all the slop gone.

Read through a write up on the Cadillac forum regarding front suspension refresh w/ parts from Detroit Diesel for around $5h.

Thank you for the reply. I agree it is time to replace the sway bar links, and possibly mount bushings.

I did replace the passenger side ride height sensor. Upon inspection noted above, I noticed the passenger side ride height sensor was pretty rusty, and the upper arm linkage slightly deformed. Cheap and easy fix so I went ahead and replaced. Unbelievably, the car rides as new. Smooth as butter. Even though it looked intact, albeit worn, it might not have been functioning at all and thus not compensating for different ride height across the front wheels given uneven surfaces.
