I would have expected the 2011 to be a flex fuel.

There both flex fuel 5.3 I thought it was only the VVT that was different.I was wrong hopefully I’m atleast benifiting from it with 6 speed oil cooler and vvt

I've got one of these in the fuel line under the driver seat along the frame rail....

We've had it since new. The OEM harness is plugged into it, nothing added.

The VIN was issued for production in November 2013, and it started on the assembly line in the second week of January 2014 and then pulled off.... As they started producing 2015 models. The ones that were pulled off the assembly line in January 2014 were completed the following August and shipped to dealers. (It took two weeks to get this info from GM through our dealer) The vehicle does have a few oddities and quirks to it, which the dealer has attributed to the delayed production. Many parts listings when looking for parts for the 2014 Escalade.... Only show up to 2013. What we have found is sometimes the 2015 part is the correct one, but usually the 2013 part is. Can get a little frustrating.

For the engine I think the easiest route would have been deleting the VVT & using all the sensors from the old engine & old ECM, but the tranny swap is going to be tricky if there's no simple way to upgrade to the 6 speed in a 2007

I think trying to replace all of the modules with the 2011 parts is going to be a strategy that keeps failing as you go; keep it as close to original as you can to avoid that rabbit hole

I would rather keep the 4 spd Trans anyway, lot better reputation for longevity & all the stock wiring & computer modules can stay; both engines are Gen 4 so the VVT delete & sensor swaps should be the only mod needed for the old ECM to do it's job

I think the only hope would be to use the entire wire harness from the 2011 and all modules that go with it. Might be far too much work but the body should accept everything since they really did not change. Swaps were simple before all the electronics.

So that’s what i have done I have changed motor trans transfer case main wiring harness I had to bring over the wiring harness that goes underneath and add the fpcm now I’m running into theft issue and I believe it’s cutting off fuel I changed pcm bcm idk I’m stuck

I only know you can disable VATS with hptuners. not that you want to spend more money on this. but just incase you know someone with it.


any chance you have a scanner that can read all the modules in the car? I might give you a useful code that wouldn't turn the check engine light on.

I have a Launch X431V+ scan tool, now 5 years old. It goes in and checks every module in the car and gives feedback while also having the ability to program some of the modules. 2 way communication. It allowed me to program or at least reset my transmission on new install. The BCM, ABS and many other systems can all be checked. Several of the higher end scan tools can do this for you. I would get one and see exactly where your problems are.

The scan tool allows you to flow check every injector, watch misfires on each cylinder, watch fuel pressure, watch the knock sensor voltages, read O2 sensors real time to see exactly what your cats are doing and how well the engine is burning along with hundreds of other features. A tool like this is expensive though, $1300 up front and $400 a year for updates. There may be many other options out there that do the same or more for you.

When working on these engines there are so many connections that are critical for proper performance. Almost every job I have done I think I am 100% finished and then plug in the scan tool and it will show a sensor is not reading. Duh, it is not plugged in yet or a wire was pinched as the job was done. It is always nice when you get it right the first time but it does not always happen and the scan tool is a mandatory check when you do these jobs. Hope you figure it out quickly.
