Pictures for sure, as Swathdiver mentioned.
Need to figure out what that plug is for then figure out what you're missing that it plugs into.
I don't believe swapping a 2011 drive train into a 2007 is an easy swap.
As far as i know 07/08 and maybe 09 are a direct swap but newer is not.
The engine reluctor is different i think requiring some creative problem solving and the trans internal valve body is different.
As far as i know, you can't just stick it in and have it work. More electronics will need swapped and tuned if possible at all.
Maybe im worng?

Yes I swapped everything except rearend. I’m changing steering column now because I couldn’t get it to crank with the 2011 computer so I’m thinking if I change the column the 2011 computer will work I have the whole other truck I just don’t wanna change things if I don’t have to. I got the truck cheap but I wish I just bought the right motor. I appreciate your help

The computer is probably not matched to the VIN, so no crank. Wrong VIN and wrong year.
I'm pretty sure you're trying to do a swap that is not going to work without a lot of work and figuring things out.
The basic engine is more or less the same. Sensors might be different. The 07 ECM would need tuned for the 2011 engine.
The TCM is different, the trans valve body is different.
I believe you can swap the trans valve bodies and use the 07 trans wire harness and it would work in your 07. I do not think the 2011 TCM will work in a 07.

But i could be totally wrong because i have never researched it and just repeating what i think i remember reading.
Hope someone that knows for sure will answer as i would like the right info also!

The 2011 has VVT, the 2007 does not, so the earlier computer is not going to be looking for a VVT signal while the later one will with their current programming. Besides, the computers have to be VIN matched to the vehicle.

Not sure why you would have to swap columns.

I cannot say with certainty what that plug is for, it escapes my mind.

Ok, I just popped the hood of my 2013 Sierra and the purple connector was secured to the strut mount and one end went under the brake booster and the other went under the underhood fuse block.

wouldn't it have been eaiser to swap the engine with heads. put the cam and front cover from the 07 on the 11 long block. reuse the 07 intakes, injectors and all that.

at this point, you're either changing the whole chassis harnesses, every module and all. isn't even the fuel system different, they 07 being return style, the 2011 being dead head pwm type?

Since he's running a 6 speed now, he can't swap valve bodies.
He will need the new ECM and ?. Maybe BCM as well?
There might be some other differences, you can check charm.li to compare wiring diagrams if anything looks different.

My 07 Yukon is returnless.
Maybe 07 Tahoe the same?

I had assumed both were 6L80.

I notice the ABS module part numbers are different between '07 and '11 as well.
Only checked that because it is part of the High speed gmlan along with BCM, onstar, and transfercase module I think?

I've seen threads about 07 having a fuel pump relay in the fuse box that return less systems with a fuel pump module don't have. that's as deep as my knowledge goes haha. I just figured if a tahoe had it, the rest would too. I guess not. maybe he's OK

if he did the ecm/tcm and body control modules. then got the hardware and access to acdelco site, he might be about to go thru and reflash every module to match?

of course if they are different part numbers, that might fail to flash the update.

I don't think he should flash anything if he's going to install all the '11 stuff.
Might have to add the fuel system control module from the '11 as well....
@SpareParts was mentioning returnless system, might you need the fuel pump from the '11 as well?
Try a scanner if still not starting?
