2007 Chevy Equinox pass air bag off light

Just picked up a 2007 Chevy Equinox for wife. The pass side air bag "off" light stays on with or without a passenger. Any ideas.

Just picked up a 2007 Chevy Equinox for wife. The pass side air bag "off" light stays on with or without a passenger. Any ideas.

I would check the sensor in the seat and its connection to the SRS module. I believe there is a pressure sensor in the seat that ties into a SRS module that tells the system that a person is sitting in the seat. I am not sure where it is located on an equinox, but many times, the module is under the center console or under the passenger seat. My bet is it is likely a loose connection due to something bumping the harness.
