I have a 2005 yukon xl 5.3 that sometimes will not start until I try 2 or 3 times. It runs good and gets 18 mpg at 80 mph.

Several typical things come to mind (these are more common than ignition switch issues).

Fuel pressure leaking down (fuel pump issue; check KOEO fuel pressure before cranking)
Crankshaft sensor not sync'd (a CASE relearn with a capable scanner corrects this)

An easy test you can run is to turn the ignition key on (not to Start), then off, then on several times. Then try to crank it. That builds fuel pressure before cranking.
