Hi folks. Does anyone know if I have to go to a GM dealer to buy replacement cats to be legal in CA?
According to a MagnaFlow rep they do not sell any cats for a 2004 Yukon, and when he looked on the CARB website for approved aftermarket cats for a 2004, well, he said there were no approved aftermarket manufacturers. None!
He said MagnaFlow has products approved for 2003 and earlier, and 2005 and later, but nothing approved for 2004. (Technical reasons omitted.)
Any insights or help would be appreciated. Otherwise I guess I'm off to the dealer.
Note: I'm not sure if the above includes do-it-yourself weld-in cats, or just prefab cat systems.
