+1 for Scamazon Alu radiators. The guys who made mine arent around I dont think which sucks because mine didnt even spring a leak running murayic acid through it after oven degreaser and drain cleaner with dish soap to remove head gasket combustion crud...
But the kids on 'Hoe-Nation cant seem to pay $300 for water-tight chinesium after I paid 210 for may as well be mishimoto...

Anywho, yeah for the auto get the 3core, then get the widest dimentional oil cooler off Amazon to go with it lol. Tru-cool makes a wider unit than the ones I see guys with. Go bananas
My pops had a Hayden for his smallblock "detroit" (boy those things had the whole earth hating actual detroit deisels lol) in the crewcab long-bed SRW four eye Square Body... (Mouthfull) That was the size of a powerstroke water to air or a dang Honda radiator, he never put that OR the frantz filter on, and then I lost'em both in storage playing 90day kangaroo court vacay with the Cobb County Sheriffs department in Atlanta... I mean I also lost a bunch of snap on and milwalkee, my touring car racecar project, two 20ft storage units, AND my fiancee died too, but I lost the parts I would turn into accessories for the drysump Im trying to build and that blows...
Trying to have enough oil cooler the water actually heats the engine up lol
Edit: i broke off into a grandpa rant and sorta missed the point, basically oil cooler and trans cooler are the same thing. Pick a style you like, I like the ones like an old home radiator for a boiler turned on end. Then you grab a remote oil filter kit, Mr.Gasket shadow AN fittings (unless your building capt america then wild out with the nascar colors lol) and some oil line and figure it out from there bro.
Just try to cover as much 9f the radiator as possible. Mount it in front of the radiator, and then actually run the lines through the cooler in the radiator as well as the cooler because you're in Moose&Milkbag country so youll need the engine to preheat the tranny. If you were in texas Id say to divorce the two entirely and then you cant cook it limping a head gasket like me here in the damn mojave but... Youll also kill it driving it cold all the time, especially if you dont preheat the truck and then immediately abuse it like me... Lol

Undoubtedly it was for something bigger and my pops was, like me, engineering an overkill solution from scratch...
Round here we build things like the USSR lol. Not good enough, make bigger. Overbuild everything as substitute for maintenence and opperator sanity

Oh fun story though, you can bolt a smallblock 400 heads directly to the diesel smallblock bottom end and go racing like you have real internals...

Same for AAN 5cyl in the real audis like the UR or the 200s etc... theres a 2.5l diesel variant... You take that bottom end and crank and if you're cheap rods, with turbo gas pistons and 4v turbo heads and boom, KRAUTZILLA
my special interest area is kinda just "goes fast on dirt" lol
Edit: Presumably you can do this with the OM benz inline 6 engines too... Unless, knowing benz, they just already all use the same block/rotating assembly...

Not a lot of Tahoe stuff to update other than in these 110*+ days the hot idle oil pressure is lower than my credit score. Also sold yeeeole crust caboose car hauler trailer last week. Went to fix the light wiring and laid under it for the first time in probably 5 years to discover the Swiss cheese rusted frame hadn’t self regenerated. Pretty lame so off she went, really hoping to not need to tow many big cars/trucks for awhile. Plus I plan to convert my 5x12 single axle trailer to a single 8lug 7k#+ axle and just tote the jeep around in that since it’s so easy to pull and less to take up space.
Also doing some work on buddies Yukon, he’s a good dude but poor taste in truck imo. It needs AC work, idler, pitman, sway bar end links, and front brakes. So easy to work on a lifted 2wd like this, can even bleed the brakes with the wheels on easy as pie.

Got that Yukon done and wow it’s amazing how easy these things are to work on compared to fords. I did full AC rebuild, all steering arms, front brakes, both belts and tensioners, and adjusted the hood latch in about 10 man hours across two days. All while barefoot

Barefoot fabrication continues, very happy how this has come out but I’m not done. One day when I finally buy a tube bender I’ll make a slim single tube bumper to wrap around and protect the rear quarter panels.
Also I foolishly decided I’d drive it (still no brakes) to the mower shop a mile or so down the road to pick up my toro commercial 30” badmambajamba push mower from service. Of course it poured after I got there and I got soaked. But I looked cool picking up my mower in my POS lol.

Hard to do for the driver, the steering wheel is fairly close to my stomach and I’m relatively thin. More likely that I’d smash it into my vital organs and I’d die in place.
The passenger could easily fall out tho! Even when they have a passenger seat it sits up so high it’s more likely sitting on top of the jeep than in it. Super sketch and fun.

Yeah I wasn’t about to try to spell that. For the other rednecks out there it’s the stuff in that forbidden dessert packet mixed into bags of beef jerky.
Never imagined one would come apart and clog a system like that. What do you think caused it?

Possible it had been leaking for years and just being topped off? Maybe it finally had enough moisture in the jerky pack to freeze and cause an over pressure situation, relocating said material into the orifice tube?

Idk, I was very hesitant to slap a new drier, tube, and compressor on without flushing the system or doing the condenser and evap as well. But we did cause hes poor and I didn’t feel like fronting more money. Pressures are great and it blows cold as can be!
