Noticed some warping of the plastic trim on the rear hatch glass. Both sides in the area of the hinges.

Suggestions other than take a heat gun to it and try to restore the shape?

TX heat taking its toll .

Update:
It’s not just plastic warping…
The right side hinge is also loose.

Myself, I'd probably look for a good junkyard replacement glass, or upgrade to the later year glass that's a slightly different style. I think it changed in 2005, but maybe mid-model year.
Agree..
Looked at it this AM after the DIC had a rear hatch open message.

The passenger side hinge is loose making it difficult to latch.

Salvage Yard trip…

Partial to the 2005 Yukon look myself.
Not a fan of the 3rd brake light on the Caddy.

Replaced glass from a local salvage yard.

Broken hinges on original glass

Very loose. Wonder if new stronger strut contributed to its demise…. ?

Picked up a DDM while I was there. Will use the electronics of the replacement DDM (if it works) with my original buttons due to fading…

Curious if the clips that hold the liftgate on are e-clips? Mine were missing and the liftgate fell on me one day.
I tried harbor freight e-clips, but they seem a little loose.. I have to remember to check the j-yard next time..

I've got 1 e-clip on one of my liftgate hinges, but I don't think that there is one on the other hinge. I'm going to have to check.

The ones for the glass are definitely e-clips. Lost one of those little ba$****$ when I changed out the glass.

Lost only slightly less often than the clips for the captains chair armrests and 10mm socketsIMG_0050.jpeg

Checked the lift gate hinges on the Z71.
Sure enough, missing the e-clip on the drivers side.

Will replace that when the one for the glass gets replaced. Maybe use a c-clip instead…
