Hello, have been struggling the past couple years with my unit and have changed numerous batteries and recently new alternator. The unit can sit a month and will start fine and then the next time it'll be totally dead left sitting over night.

Had my remote start disconnected and it still did it and then recently the alternator went and i hoped that would fix it but it just went dead two nights ago with nothing left on. Not sure where to even go with this as its a bit of a pain...

So new alternator and battery but will still just once in awhile decide to drain the battery like something isn't shutting down off the key like it's supposed to.

Struggled with this myself. And lucky for me it ended up being a short (dead cell) in the battery. Chased it for months, everyday was different. Finally bought a AGM battery and all is well now.

What you could do is (with the truck turned off ), take off your negative cable on battery and put a test light or multimeter between post on battery and ground cable. Let sit for 10 or so minutes to let the computer power down. Then see if the light is on nice and bright, if so then something is definitely staying on. (This is where a multimeter comes in handy , you WILL see millivolts, this is normal. Anything more than millivolts will be a concern.) Then pull fuses one at a time to see if you can get the light to go out or the voltage on meter drop. Done this for years and works very well. I'm sure others that have gm tech2 or equivalent could pin point it faster, but being cheap bas%ard I am works for me .

Hope this helps. Good luck. Let us know.

I know what your talking about . Guy that I got mine from put in 800 cca everstart battery its cooking the battery . Or it was over filled.. but I have car that is very battery demanding also .. the fix for car was one of them $150 gold gm batteries and it was perfect after install. I'm starting to wonder if my Yukon XL is just as demanding with battery . I'm thinking of putting an extra battery in Yukon XL.
Because there's alot of light dimming with engine off . Far as electrical problems . Here is my findings anyway .. if the headlight switch dimmer acts goofy replace it .. that fixed about 5 light problems and fixed reprogram the tire pressure sensors also because the auto headlight switch is used to program air sensors . Anyway that one switch replaces fixed about 6 of light and sensor issues.
2006 Yukon XL SLT plus is my model package .if that helps anyone .
