Also, if you drop the tank, buy the bolts and nut clips that hold the tanks straps to the frame. They usually break or strip.

Are you in an area where they salt the roads in the winter? It sounds like you might have rusted lines if so. Have the shop check the power steering lines and brake lines while they are looking at things just so you have an idea. The advice about possibly rusted fuel line on top of your tank applies. They should be able to snake a camera up there to see.Ok. Upon reading all this information I figured it's not a 3 hour job. And definitely not during today's weather. I will bring truck to a mechanic on Tuesday. I want to know how much would it cost to fix that problem. Also my steering leaks I add liquid all the time. I do have a small puddle on a ground. And I can tell where I parked. But it's nothing critical. I just want to check all outcomes, is it worth fixing at all.
1) For the windshield glue: Razor blade and a lot of Windex. Spray it. Let it sit for a few minutes and then use the razor blade to get the glue off. It’s a PITA but that’s the best way to do it.I will be bringing truck into a shop next week.
I would like to do everything at once. I need to replace shocks. Also rear is too high. I don't know what is the cause. Previous owner installed some cheap shocks, yellow off brand, no idea what it is. But truck drives like pickup . I want something more comfortable for long trips. I drive 2 hours sometimes. It's getting annoying. I thought something from Rock Auto but I see lots with autoride and I'm not sure if truck still has it.
Who can recommend something comfortable. And send me Link please.

You can paint them to match like I did. Your truck looks to be pewter metallic like mine. If you do you’ll need to shoot clear over the base so be sure to get that too. Or just any black from a hardware store would be cheaper, it’s up to you. Here’s a link to where you can buy rattle cans of your color as well as clearcoat. https://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/gmc/2001/yukon/I do have these d pillars. They are not really matching body. I have a question. Should I paint them black or keep this color. My trunk door is from Yukon was replaced by previous owner.

Go in with a welder. Easy fix.Looks like I do have a problem with tank fuel lines. Dripping gas. That is a puddle for 24 hours. And is still dripping .
That’s what I was afraid you might have. Time to drop the tank. You’ll need a new fuel pump most likely, rusted out where the fuel lines come out of it. Don’t forget to get the tank strap bolts and threaded inserts I mentioned. Those can be had at any auto parts store, the old ones will strip out or most likely break when you remove them. You can google the symptoms and see pictures of what others have found if you haven’t seen.Looks like I do have a problem with tank fuel lines. Dripping gas. That is a puddle for 24 hours. That what I thought. Rusted out fuel pump. I hope I will have a short day on Tuesday. And I will bring it to Aamco. This is the only issue with truck so far. I hope it will not burn till that time. It's parked on a street. And my neighbors are complaining about gas smell. And gas station is a bit to blame too. I fuel it on work card on a same gas station for years, and dude knows me. He tops tank all the time on my diesel sprinter. So probably I had a fortune with him this time. Tank is on Full. And this leak is close to exhaust. Good that it's very windy here in NYC and cold. So it will not stink and caught fire. That’s what I was afraid you might have. Time to drop the tank. You’ll need a new fuel pump most likely, rusted out where the fuel lines come out of it. Get a set off Temu. Their auto section is pretty good and the set I bought off Temu for $3 was the same one on amazon for $15. Gotta wait a week but check them out. It’s a bit gimicky when you first start but I like the crap I buy off it.So far driver side door is complete. Will finish all the rest later. These black ark covers will go too. I just need plastic clip removal tool. I like black badging better. View attachment 452679
