I have a 2008 LTZ 4x4 with the 5.3 with 4 speed auto(not sure if its 60, 65, or 70). I have serviced this trans two times prior but I always just bought the filter at the parts store. Well this time I'm going to buy it online as I have a few other things I need from the same place. Question is, do I have a deep or shallow pan? How can I tell? I have looked around a little bit but got no real answers, some say one thing, others say the opposite. I had never been asked this at the parts store before, thats why I was a little confused. Being 4x4 and all, I'm assuming that its the deep but I want to be 100% sure before I pull the trigger.

Ok, I think mine is the deep pan. It steps down from the back and I think the shallow pan is flat. I ordered the filter for the deep pan so we shale see.
