Pretty cool man! Don’t the led housings get pretty warm? I guess you used high temp paint though. Cool that you can see them in the daytime with just a little tint of blue / red.. good work, as usual. When are you moving from Ak? I want to commission you to build me some retros for my Yukon. Idk trying for next year . This place is such a dump. Mayor took upon himself to use relief money to buy a building down the street from me and turn it into a homeless shelter.

U think a 3" projector can fit in our headlights?...I want to try to retrofit a mled 2.0 into the clear housings. The acme projectors look nuts btw.

It without cutting up the housings for clearance . Then would have to mount using but and bolt method

I don’t know where I get my infatuation or obsession for lights. Nobody around me has the same passion so it’s not like I was around it growing up. I just love lights , looooved the old school mini trucks with the real neon tubes back in the day.
I have so many ideas rattling around in my brain. For example I see a set of light housings and I think of 5-10 different ways of customizing them like nobody has done before. But I have to pick just one and go with it lol. Main reason why it takes me awhile for some mods, finally narrowing down to just one idea lol

So been busy with an almost full kitchen remodel. Lots of sanding and painting. Tahoe been sleeping under a blanket

Btw I suck at stain. This is what we were removing from a project 3 years ago. Sanded all the stain off and painted a flat white. Looks way better and brightens it up a ton. Still waiting on handles. Next is granite counter tops and back splash tiles

All new brakes , rotors and pads, sitting in that chair waiting for install.

Some more quarantine boredom lol. Mayor shut down our city for another month. It’s f@&king stupid . The cases of numbers equal to less than 1% in the entire state. But there’s more to the shut down than Covid. The left wing nut mayor is making sure local businesses go out of business so he can buy up property. but like I said it goes deep.

Anyway ordered some red tint to see if there might be a easier way to candy stock tails. Didn’t really turn out the way I’d like. You be the judge. The yellow part just looked like a deep orange. Then I added some tint on the clear reverse part for something different, lighter than the stock red below it.

Added a light smoke film to possibly turn it more red. Was just a darker amber , lol....duh. I found some dark red tint but need to order it and try this again. I tried adding another layer of red and it was still orange and didn’t match.

Got rid of the reflector housings . Put in the Retros back in to see how they look with the reflector turns and to see how the red passive demon eyes look....they look amazing!

All you need is Denali headlights, CB&D brackets and projectors. Straight bolt on using my method.

Retired the infamous HOE badge . Rear looks naked but really clean.

Went ahead and proceeded with an idea I've had in my head for quite sometime now. I call it the poor mans shave lol. Can’t find anyone to weld aluminum up here, then once I decided to go with a steel 00-02 hatch none seem to pop up. Even went to check on a couple “00-02” trucks and they still ended up being aluminum hatches. So I said f**k it and went to the local plastics guy with a template I made and had him cut out a piece of abs for me to use a trim design piece on the hatch. Never seen it done before so I just went the images in my head and sent it lol. I had the rear painted with primer than Plastidip on top for a couple years with the same design after I had sanded down all the corrosion bubbles and chips that’s very common on these hatches. Was suppose to be temporary but it’s been like that for almost 4 years now. Actually got compliments on the design and how it flowed with the window and body lines. So I stuck with that design and used the plastic piece wrapped in 3M 1080 gloss black. Used the 3M double sided tape to secure it to the hatch skin. Then added nnbs Tahoe letters and bowtie to the trim piece. Came out alright. It’s kind of a prototype that I do want to improve on and see what other ways I can do this. But at least now i have a real life visual to see how it looks. And best of all no more flat black plastidip spot.
