Got new shoes. 2011'ish Denali 20s on bald tires. You don't wanna know how much I paid for them. But hey they look clean. Get new rubber this fall.
Loaded them up in my cousins Silverado. He's gonna buy those black Denali 20s we set next to his wheels.

I thought 20's would look bigger than 18s. But they were only 2 inches bigger. So now I want 22s![]()
After 4 days , 3 separate auto parts store trips, 1 broken jack, 4 broken extensions, 3 broken sockets, and 3 broken adapters I got the wheels installed.

In my head I did lolHmmm... Did you expect them to be more than 2" bigger? Lol
I have no idea why but that was THE hardest tire change over I've ever done in my life. Was like the the lugs were seized onto the wheels. On a side note I fell like the hulk since I busted all this parts with my bare handsWhat?!?!

No wonder, those look like 3/8 drive? I always use a 1/2" breaker bar to remove them and a 1/2" torque wrench to install. Those little tools were way over their head. After 4 days , 3 separate auto parts store trips, 1 broken jack, 4 broken extensions, 3 broken sockets, and 3 broken adapters I got the wheels installed.

What did you torque them to? Torque specs are 140 ft/lbs which is near the limits of a normal 1/2" drive torque wrench. Mine only goes to 150. Which is way past what I'd try to do with any 3/8" drive ratchet or socket. They were 3/8. I've never had an issue with using 3/8 on any vehicle if properly torqued right to begin with. Of course the only 1/2 size I needed I didn't have. They were cheaper tools so I'm not even upset about it, I still have a bunch left. After the 2nd day i bought the right size 1/2 socket size and still wouldnt budge. 3rd day I borrowed a friend's impact driver and zipped them off. 4th day installed and torqued.
Either way they're not suppose to be that tight.

I trimmed about 1 1/2 inches off the bottom of mine. I think I should've went maybe another 1/8 or so more.HD grille. Trimmed the lower part a little more than an inch. There's a middle bracket. Trimmed that as well and kept it for extra support. Everyone asks how much need to be trimmed. Well after I did mine it's hard to measure exactly so I trimmed it to where it's flush with the lower mounting tabs.

You can see the middle brace that bolts on the back side along with the bowtie. It hangs down. I was able to slide that part behind the bumper pad but it wouldn't pop the rivet into place.

You can also see where the trimmed part is flush with the outer mounting spots.
I ran an oiled k&n in mine for awhile and never had any issues, fortunately.Swapped out a pretty clean fram filter for a k&n panel.

2 miles later I immediately get the infamous check engine light
Only lightly oiled one side, the dirty side. Might take it out and clean it and run it dry, should be OK ?View attachment 181592
I'm amazed he didn't!Somebody probably had their impact set on kill when they were put on. Plus the rust and corrosion. Just glad you got them off without breaking any studs!
Wouldn't surprise me. Bunch of morons that work on tires up here. I gotta baby sit people. Went to 3 different shops to have my Nissan wheels installed. Every single one of them said they can't do it because I drive a Chevy truck and the wheels are for a Nissan truck. Lost a sale plus I was buying tires at the time. Found some tires at one place then had another put them on the rims. Then another to install them.Somebody probably had their impact set on kill when they were put on. Plus the rust and corrosion. Just glad you got them off without breaking any studs!
