04 Denali with 33" grapplers

Just got them on last week, minor rubbing but nothing that bothers me.

I am afraid to go further than my dirt road with this all wheel drive system with no low gear! I wish I could do a little bit but i dont think that is gonna happen.

Do you have any kind of lift on there or is it stock? I'm thinking about running 33" tires next summer on mine.

I had new keys put on and I put 2" spacers in the rear.. My air ride went out so instead of $600 in parts I got $50 spacers. I think the rear is just barely above stock, right at 38"

I had to replace my rear suspension, too, but I went with aftermarket Bilstein/Arnott direct replacement air shocks. About 1/3 the price of OEM but kept the air ride. Eventually I think I'll do away with that system altogether, but I was having a hard time finding a local shop that knew how to swap in some normal shocks.

It is direct replacement. I just bought some skyjacker hydro shocks for $65 pair.. Of course your service ride control will come on, kinda aggravating but I have ignored it for the year it has been on.. You can change them out yourself with simple tools

I also have a 04 YD AWD, and wanting some 33's.

What exact size are yours?
33x11.5x17 or 33x12.5x17 or 305/75/17?

I really dont want Any rubbing.
Currently I am at stock ride height, with 285/75/16, they are borrowed from a friend. From his 02 silverado. I have Zero rubbing.
My 265/17's are bald and needed to pass inspection.

Front end rubs when at full lock against the A arm at the top just barely. The rear rubs the plastic where the upper shock mount is (well it did before it ripped a small chunk out) which seemed to fix its own problem. So i cut the other side out. And i get minor rubbing going down my dirt road when rear axle flexes. I am getting some wheel adapters when i can find the ones i want to get the tire away from the inside wall. The tire is 33/12.50R17 which according to nitto is 32.97 tall and 12.68" wide. I think you would be fine with a 33 that is not nobby on the side wall like the grappler. Im thinking the addition of 1.25" spacers in the rear and 1.5" in the front will completely take care of any problems.. Also with the denali i did away with the air ride and put spacers with my rear end sits at 38" from what i have read for people with spacers thats stock.

In the upclose picture of the rear you can see where the plastic is cut out near the upper shock mount.

Where did you get your keys and spacers? I wanting to do that to mine too...im tired of the lowered look. Do you think would look ok if i kept my rims and went with a 33" tire?

I just told my local off road shop Steve's offroad that I want 2-3" keys and 2" spacers. They are ready lift and it was $420 here for parts and install.. But from what I have seen keys are around $200 and spacers about $50-60 on eBay. Easy install on the rear spacers if you have knowledge of your rear suspension.. Could save you a little to just get the keys installed and do the spacers yourself.. What size wheels do you have? 33's usually look really good with oversized rims especially on smaller lifts

The rims are 20x9 i believe...i was thinking of going with a 33" Nitto Terra Grappler, I think it'll look good with those rims. Thanks for the info!

It will def look good.. If you dont rub now much just driving a straight line due to backspacing you should be fine going with a 33" tire. I have a friend that had 33's and 20's on his tahoe and had no major issue. And a guy i see around town has 295's with 20's and says he has no major rubbing issues

I took them off right after i got the keys and spacers on and if you didnt know better it looked like i had a 4" lift with stock tires.. I never realized how big they really are, If i get bored and want to spend 45 minutes taking them off i may do it and get some pics up just for some looks.

i have 305/50/20 tires now...but what size should i get when i get the keys and spacers?? i looked for 33/12.50's but Nitto uses the other size chart....any help? I wanna do 33's

Nitto typically uses standard not metric measurements. I had a set of 33x12.5 R20 Nitto Mud Grapplers on my Dodge Ram.
