Finally going to do this... ordering later today. Any reason not to proceed with something like this?
No, if the brackets fit your headlights then it’s the easiest retrofit ever. No regrets.

This is a low beam only, pretty sure
The acme supers H1 is a low and high beam.
Also you can put whatever his system you want, doesn’t have to be acme.
But yes this will fit
I didn’t realize Acme sold a low-beam only H1. It seems that wouldn’t be desirable by anybody. Might as well have a shutter.

I stand corrected , says right there it’s a bi-xenon. I haven’t shopped them in awhile. I know at some point the standard was just a low beam pattern. So never mind these do have a high/low function built in. make sure as soon as you get them plug in the high beam solenoid and test the shutter functions at least 50x before installing

What do you mean by "new bowls"?
I have an 02 Yukon Denali. I just started researching my headlight problem and I'm not familiar with some of these terms. I didn't know that these headlights could be opened up and repaired.
I'm trying to figure out what to do with my lights. I'm wondering if the chrome reflector is peeling inside.
My dims suck and my brights are no help.

The chrome reflector is what I’m referring to as the bowls It was peeling badly in mine. I’m going to replace the complete projector assembly. I have everything to do it but just haven’t had time. I’ll send you full pics when I get to it.

This video may help

The Morimoto Mini H1’s have amazing output, you’ll be super happy. The adapter plates make it a super easy job, normally you have to bake open a headlight assembly in order to do a true retrofit like this. This way everything just screws in from the back. And you can buy the pigtails already assembled from TRS so you don’t need to do any soldering. I did this exact same thing to some new Anzo U-Bar projectors for my 02 Denali, came out super nice. I did a write-up over at GMFS.com that got very little attention which I don’t understand but then those guys are all pretty much di*ks.

All true including the part mentioning the guys on gmfs being idiots :rotflmao:.

Also the fact that the brackets line the projector up exactly horizontally, where normally without the brackets you have to put the headlight on the truck then align the light rotation output and hope when you take it off to secure that position it doesn’t mess up the alignment.

I did the adpaters and mh1's in my old denali headlights, takes maybe 20 minutes if the glue holding the oem ones is tight. i held on to my OEM halogen projectors for so long but no one ever needed a set and i tossed em a few weeks ago. oh well, the HID retro is the way to go

Well today I started the project. Figured I’d first try to install the TRS acme lights in my 04 Denali. Got things apart and got to the point of installing the acme hids. Seems that my cb&d brackets may have an issue with the acme lights. The lights will not lay flat on the brackets due to the screws that’s hold the lenses in place

Any suggestions? I was under the impression that the acme had the same footprint as the mh1s? 5EB97509-1AE9-458F-9DCD-B0E723F2DFAF.jpeg

I don't think those are going to work. I know the brackets I bought are advertised as being designed for the Moromoto's. They look slightly different than those but regardless, it doesn't look like those are going to work for the Acme's. Here's the brackets I bought, and the mini H1's. You can see the difference in the projectors between mine and yours and in the first pic you can see they're cut out specifically for the Moromoto's.

I’m going to make them work. Mounting holes are perfect so I’m going to dremmel the mounts until things fit flat then just a bit of silicone should fix the small hole that will be remaining.

What sealant did you use?

I’m slowly working on this (a bunch of other things in life keep interrupting the process) Where have folks mounted the relays for the HID’s? Almost have the lights done and I’m looking to finish the wiring.

I put mine on the radiator core support, used 3M high bond tape.

Put mine on the engine side of the radiator core support on the passenger side next to the air filter box.
