Thanks Again Everyone.
Cleaned the bolts with a wire brush on a Dremel
Blew the holes out,
Put anti-seize on each bolt and screwed them all in without the water pump.
Installed the water pump.
NO leaks
We are good!

Put that down as a nice win. Better to be careful as you were than go in and break a few things. Nice work.

Good work. Always clean bolt threads, and clean threaded bolt holes with a thread chaser making these replacements.

Something odd is going on. You can use a regular tap of the correct thread size and try twisting in by fingers only. The tap should go in rather easily. Maybe get a camera in there and send some pictures back. I'm not sure maybe the later gen. engine has a different water pump design. Have you mixed up a different group of bolts? I put my water pump bolts in with anti-seize because I'm probably going to be the next guy in there.

Already got it back on, see previous post on page 1.
No mix-up in bolts, only bolts off where the water pump and tensioner pulley bolts are, all shown in the photo on page 1.

They don't look damaged, but definitely have a starting tip,guessing those are the tensioner bolts? Been a while since I did either. Glad it's working for you.

The two bottom bolts look like a larger diameter. Good point on starter tip. I haven't seen many of those over the years. Where are they usually used? Maybe on connecting things to the frame.
