I checked this morning and the ad is still up so as I expected, the guy that got the loan approved probably did not like the final outcome. As of now I am not gonna call the guy. If he wants to make a counter offer to me, I will listen but I am stuck at around $7000 to $72000 for that rig and that is what I had told him. Just because he uses CarFax for his estimated value instead of KBB does not mean it is worth it to me.

I am not on Facebook and don't want to be. Do I have to join Facebook to get on that Facebook Marketplace?
I think searchtempest searches it.

This was helpful to me in my most recent search for a vehicle: https://www.autolist.com/ I also used https://www.searchtempest.com/ and watched Facebook Marketplace and some of the groups to which I subscribe.

That said, for those of you who prefer the 2003 - 2006 seats, does anyone have problems with the seat foam itself? I can't tell if it is just old foam, or if I need something aftermarket; but the seats I have in my Suburban (2005) and my Silverado (2004) make my backside hurt after an hour or two of seat time). Of course, it could just be my backside is too fat for the seat... :(
Drive a 15-20 truck, hell just sit in the seat..... worst buckets ever

actually... all the seats in those trucks suck

I just typed in Facebook Marketplace and put in the info for my search and found several vehicles and also saw the one we have been talking about.

I found the caveat. If you want contact details, you have to join Facebook.

Looks nice ...good luck

Welcome to the forum from Oregon.

We recommend that you put all your rig(s) info in your signature so we all don’t have to guess at year, make, model, engine size, trans, rear axle locker…….etc. While you may have posted pertinent info in your first post, you may forget to do it again and the info is needed by us anyway. Makes it way easier on all members that attempt to help, to have that info right up front. It is also recommended that you take a pic of your RPO codes, on the inside cover of the glove box, and post that image in your signature. All this info will greatly help those that will try to help with a problem.

If there is any other info, like upgrades, mods or recent mechanical/maintenance work done, that would be helpful in any post as well. Too many times a question is asked by the poster and after about 10 responses we find out that the poster has done recent work to attempt to fix the problem or work that was done that SEEMS not related to the problem.

Or borrow a girlfriend's FB.

I've been using Jenn's lately while searching for a desk. Of course, I find myself browsing vehicles. Found a beautiful '79 Silverado in Magnolia, TX that I've been pining over all day.

No girlfriend, thank God. More trouble than they can be worth. Especially here in the entitlement capital of the Willamette Valley, Eugene, Oregon.

The last great lady I knew was my deceased wife.

As of just a few minutes ago that 2002 is still up at the Sisters, Oregon CL site and I just texted him about what happened with the guy who got the loan approved. He just texted back while I am typing this. Now the seller says the buyer has to sell his vehicle before he can buy. I thought he said the buyer got his loan approved. Maybe the loan is not enough to buy it outright at the asking price of $9200 from the seller.

I just texted him back with a cash price offer of $7k.

I’m gonna have to agree with everyone else. For that price tag you can absolutely get something newer... its a beautiful truck. Hell I loved my 00 hoe but I only paid 3 k with 160k miles on it. Ac worked front and back.. I spent slightly under 2 k for dual exhaust, Bilstein shocks all around. New springs. Leveling kit. And brakes all around. That thing ran like a top. Had it for about 5 years until I upgraded to a 15 yukon.

and I only upgraded because we just had a baby. And the wife was concerned about having a 200k plus vehicle for the family

When I got my 02 it was a one owner. Husband died and wife wanted a new vehicle. They were tenants at my self storage facility. All work done at the dealer 1/4 mile away from me. She had all paperwork for all repairs and maintenance done at that dealer. Only problem was a dent in the chrome part of the front bumper behind the license plate. I got it for $3400 if I remember right. The mileage was around 142k. Has ran like a top with only replacing the chrome section of the front bumper and a water pump replacement for repairs. Rest is maintenance work.
