so aside from my 97 tahoe i own 2 Hondas this is a factory si wing for my 00 civic. it took me a while to find someone but keep digging around. you would be suprised how many actual quality painters do alot of side work at thier shop after hours. i paid 50 bucks for this to get prepped painted and baked so its fully cured and ready to go. guy also told me he could do my whole car for 1000 or my whole Tahoe for probably under 3k but he wanted to see it first. never know when someone you know friend or customer who has connections with a local body shop guy.

All the parts that come off have to be stored and organized. A few parts here and there, he definitely does that for me along with blending or in the case of my Silverado, a full wet sand buff and polish but no full paint jobs even for friends. And he has so much business he works all he wants so there’s no way he’s going to work “on the side” or on his days off. So the hard part is finding anyone to do it that gives a shit how it comes out, because there’s no competition. Be prepared to pay $5000-up.

A few weeks ago, at a Home Depot, I saw a mid - '2000's Silverado. It was a medium blue with side-accent white. Painted like a '70's - '80's 2-tone. IT WAS GORGEOUS, the way it was laid out & painted.
I am pissed I didn't take photos of it!!!

Thanks, Rocket Man. Exactly what I'm finding. Technically, my Yukon isn't worth investing 5K with 202,000. But the truck is rust free, the body and interior are near perfect and I've already replaced the rearend and tranny. So I'll just drop in a fresh 5.3 or 6.0 (preferred upgrade) when the engine fails. And where can you buy a decent full-sized SUV for around 10-12K (paint and engine upgrade). So I feel I can justify the expense. I'm really trying to do my homework first.

That's the thing. "Not worth it" is just beat into our heads to get us to buy new stuff we don't really need. If everything else on the truck is in good shape and you still love it, I see no real reason to say it isn't worth it. Anything you buy in the $5k-$10k range is likely going to need thousands in mechanical repairs alone that the previous owner let pile up until they decided to dump it. At this point, I'm planning on keeping my 08 Escalade and my wife's 12 Yukon on the road as long as I can. I often wonder if the previous owners of both trucks would have still gotten rid of them if they knew a few thousand spent on them would have made them both as good as they are now.

I see that you are in Georgia. I grew up in the Stone Mountain area, then moved to west GA before coming to Sarasota in 1980. I moved back to the Kennesaw/Acworth area from 2000-2007, then came back to Sarasota (my wifey's home town) and here I am.
