Today, I was driving along trying to get things done, when I heard the dreaded constant chime, and looked down to see: Low Oil Pressure.
Sonofa..
pull over, pop the hood, and don’t see any immediate sign of trouble. Then I notice my brake master cylinder cap is missing.
The alignment shop I used 2 weeks ago took the liberty of “diagnosing” my Yukon rather than just aligning it.
So I remembered they had recommended a brake fluid flush, as it’s dirty. [emoji2959] Bastards left the cap off after not asking me about checking in the first place.. so, not that big a deal..
But the oil pressure..
So I had replaced the oil pressure sensor in December. I ordered the AC Delco from Amazon, and it was a good price. (~$40)
Embarrassingly, when I was installing it, I managed to get the socket tilted a bit in that tight area, and broke off the plastic top. So I had to get a replacement in town right away. Picked up a “Standard”, since no one close had a Delco and figured it would do. How can you **** up a pressure sensor..? So that POS was $25 more than what I paid for the Delco part, and lasted from December 29, to March 21. Once again, seeing why we only use genuine GM parts! Frustrating day. I planned to wash it this morning too. At least she’s back safe in the garage where she belongs. Ended up about $100 lighter for it today.
