Was getting around 15 mostly city if not all and now down to 13.6 on the last tank but that is a 7" lift and 34s with tune so I think its perfect!

Completely stock, and getting 13.7 on the way to work, mostly city driving. Putting in an Airaid MIT with K&N drop in tomorrow.

Currently getting 10mpg in town driving roughly 4-5 miles per trip. Haven't had a chance to really the it out of town as I just bought her.

Mid 11's all city so far. Stop light to stop sign type driving. Same as my 13 F150 5.0 was on city mpg.

I get about 12.5 average over 10 fill ups. I record every mile, and every drop of fuel I buy! I drive mostly in town. I am going on a trip to michigan next week and will be driving there stock, and driving back with my intake on. Interested to see how it does!

If I am unlucky I get 11 in town and 18 on the highway. A good day yields 8 towing my boat.

And I say unlucky because it means there is too much traffic to drive like I want to.

old thread, but fig'd id post anyways. i just bought an 07 esky ext last weekend, love the truck btw-have wanted one for awhile now.

all stock, 92k miles, factory 18's. my current average is right at 13.1mpg after about 300mi, with a lot of idling (its cold here..and havent had remote start for awhile, so i take advantage of it). id say it idles for at least 10min before i go to work, about 25min on lunch break, and 10min before i leave work.

im happy with the mpg with all of the idling. When i drove back from cleveland (30mi) when i bought it, avg was around 18.3 i believe.

I say AWD sucks for two reasons: First, you can't turn it off, Secondly, you can't turn it on. I'd far prefer just a regular 4-hi/4-lo transfer case with some auto lockers in the rear axle.

I don't need the AWD when highway driving, and it sucks down fuel and tires unnecessarily. I'd also like to turn it off in parking lots instead of binding the driveline in and out of every parking spot. When I actually do need 4 wheel drive, I always feel like the AWD comes up short. It doesn't split the power evenly between the axles, and it doesn't have a 4-low option. All told, I'd rather the Denali have the standard 4 wheel drive setup.

I recently had my rear axle serviced at a driveline shop and always thought I had some kind of locker in the rear. He says it's just a regular open rear axle, but he also says that most Denali's have an auto locker in the rear. I can hear the brake system activating on slippery surfaces. Is this in lieu of the locker in the rear axle?

The noise you hear is your traction control kicking in when you're slipping. Check the RPO codes in your glove box. G80 is the code for the locking rear diff.

Personally I like the AWD. In my caddy I doubt the rear diff would survive very long with over 400ftlb of torque and a 8.5" ring gear.
