NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Dont do that...look at my truck or JKs truck...they are both flareless drops on 3/5.... Yours adds character!!! DONT take them off, you'll regret it...it sets you apart man

can anyone explain what the bump stops are for ? And what is the mod everyone is talking about for ?

They prevent the axle from slamming against the frame if you bottom out on something...the bump stops are huge rubber cushion cones attatched to the frame pointing down so that they absorb the hit instead of hitting the frame itself (which would be metal against metal)

They are large though...so when we drop our trucks sooo low (3/5 drop)...the truck is sitting lower now resting the bump stops on the axle..causing it to act like a spring on dips and bumps in the road

usually theres like..4 inches or so clearance between the bottom of the bump stop and the axle

---------- Post added at 03:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:26 PM ----------

And the mod we are talking about is just removing the bumpstop and its mounting bracket and putting a polyurathane pad in its place (which is about 1/10 the height) giving it clearance again

Get some new shocoks Coopie, Bilsteins are on the long side for a 5" drop even with extensions so I would say some Monroes or Belltech Street Perf. 4" drop shocks.

your ride looks great man...i cant wait to get my 3/5 on also...i agree with blizzard about the flares, but maybe you could get them color matched along with your bumper.
