hey guys, ive searched the forums and cant find what im looking for, i heard of a factory 200 amp alt rpo code kyu i think, and was wanting this alternator for my truck to help with low voltage problems. any idea what year and truck this came on? and will it wotk on a 01 yukon?

Why not get a PPV Tahoe 220 amp or a power master hi output one my wife and I both run power master hi output altanators

xs power makes some great alternators. they aren't cheap though.

cheapest/easiest option is to go with a reman 145A alternator as thats what a lot of the newer models come with from the factory

okay what are you running to get low voltage problems im assuming some aftermarket insane wattage car stereo amps
what kinda of voltage readins are you getting at the batt terminals , at idol, under load , car off , also take a voltage reading at your car stereo amp, if you battery is kickin out less then 12. 2 volts or so its a bad battery also the big 3 deal my solve alot of problems for example after i did that upgrade i get almost 14 volts to my amp
becuase i have an 02 tahoe i think its got a 105 amp alt i got a brand new optima and all zero guage wiring and my 5 channel is like 1300 watts rms my lights or guages dont fliker wehn the bass hits nothing no problems
and if you have an insane stereo system there is also a dual alt kit so you can just install a second alt right next to the current one

i have 4 320amp iraggi alternators. Best amp for price ratio.
each of my alts bench more than 320 amps at 2-2.5k rpms

a 220+ amp alt
big 3 is a must!
and a agm battery. you shouldnt have any voltage issues.

i cold start at 15.3 and once warm the truck sits about 14.8.
i had 2 powerbastard alts prior to this setup (that i bought from a member here, sold his truck through) and they didnt bench 250amp and charged at 14.3

my current setup also has a vcm which is usually set to 15.1 for demo's or 14.9 daily which isnt much different from where they usually sit at 14.8 anyways... full tilt i drop to 14 with 12-13k rms, that was only with 4 batteries. new build with have 6 Group31s in the back and 2 group34's under the hood and a bunch of 2/0 shouldnt have much if any voltage drop

sorry i havent been back to read yall's info, i found a 253 amp delco replacement for $200 new with warrenty and upgraded all my wire under hood with 1 awg wire. found my factory alt (130 amp) was getting weak and was causing all my problems. not running a huge stereo, but its decent, little over 3k rms. with this alt and a bigger batt under the hood im getting 14.4 at the amps and staying over 13.6 on music. now time for more power!

Its a Delco Remy part# 8292N-253A. I bought locally from a reman shop. Dunno which part stores carry delco remy, but you can check.

i normally sit at 14.8 with a 300 amp alt and 2 batteries but i can adjust it depending on what im doing in the truck, civic on the other hand is a spl monster lol

dont charge your batteries to long at 15.3... i use to set my vcm at 15.1 for demo's but 15.1 is too much for 12v batteries, especially xs power.. xs power told me not to go over 14.9.. so be careful at 15.3 anthony
