Ben what else would you use besides vht?
Personally I'd have a professional do it and skip the DIY VHT stuff. There's a lot of things I'll attempt myself but that is not one of them as it's so easy to mess it up.

X2 vht fades. The clear you use is the most important part. A good shop should not charge you more than 100.

:poker: It'd be easier if a certain someone didn't mod their jeep to be rolling with my lights on them for a week :whymewhyme:

VHT nightshades works fine if your going to black out the tail light completely, as long as you cover with a good clear. I found it very hard to actually tint the tail light to any shade other than completely black, and make it look even. Instead I mixed 1 part black paint to 3 parts clear coat, and sprayed them with a HVLP paint gun to my desired shade of tint, then finished with clear over the top. That's usually how a professional will tint your lights, and give the best results.

I feel pretty confident with a rattlecan. And yes, 2-3 coats clear is a must. The black is fine, maybe I should do a few coats of clear to bring back the shine.

Most of my rattlecan jobs turned out very well so it should be fine

Lee, I got the paint and clear from tcpglobal.com. The black was House of Kolors Shimrin2 Jet Black, and clear was their Kustom Shop 2K Urethan Clear. I used it to repaint my old set of wheels before I sold them, and had enough left over to do my tails. I'll try to get them out of the box and take a pic. They have been off the tahoe after my last ticket for having them on.

I'd rather rent a trailer for an hour than do that

I love every ones reactions, that's great.

I couldn't pass it up and since I'm having such a hard time finding a trailer hitch, it had to be done.
