And a sign from the neighborhood I perused looking for a nice backdrop for the above pic:

We need more out of the box thinkers like you around here. Haters gonna hate.

out of box thinkers my ass. sorry but to me that is hackish kinda work. or poor mans versions. what ever you want to call it.
I'm not the best welder and I don't have all the tools to make it look all fancy.

Those cutouts you see for sale aren't as good as you think and cost too much. They leak and the expensive electric ones don't work very long. If this melts, I'll just bolt a new throttle body up there. :)

Welding is like any other skill, it takes practice.

that is more of substituting a clamp for a clamp. a bit different then doing the same between and an exhaust valve and TB.

btw it was not the welding part it was more of the part that was used.

You suggested a person here use a prevortec distributor clamp on a vortec distributor, ie use a part in an environment that was incorrect or wasn't meant to be used for, that's what this smart young lad is doing. Don't be jealous he came up with a bad ass idea while you sit around doing the same old stuff lots of other guys have done over and over ... :happy160:

both were dizzy clamps. and not jealous. no reason to be. imo it should be done properly with parts designed to do the job. if it breaks fix it or improve it(not by converting to tb tho.) oh and i seriously doubt i am doing the same as others do over and over. i only do things once on the truck.:)

oh and replaced the valve cover grommets. over the years they just are loose and and let residual oil leak out. now they have very tight connections.
