I'm wondering if this mod for my Yukon would look better painted black?.. or color-matched to white?

I know mine is different, but here's a white Tahoe that also has dark tinted windows (Chad Lewis I think) and the black in the headlights doesn't look bad on white

go with the black.. that looks good IMO.

if it wasn't such a pain to work with these headlights I would probably do it also.... looks sweet.

is this the mod where you heat up the light in an oven and pull it apart?

I did it on a civic years ago and was able to get it opened up using a hair dryer. Took time and patience. I am sure you can get the same effect from the oven, but I would be EXTREMELY careful doing it this way don't want to end up melting it up.

No problem iwaslowr, personally since your truck has a white/chrome theme I would open them up and just take out the amber reflector and be done but if you decide to paint I would go the white route but that's just me 0.2 cents!:D Can't wait to see it when you get it finished!

I was thinking of doing the same for practice... any progress by chance?

I'd like to see the chrome painted solid black and another solid white for comparison... Looks like I've got quite a project ahead, but this is not high on my list of upcoming mods. Can't have the Yukon out of commission for too long of a period, so buying one off of eBay is sounding like my only option.
