1993 GMC Yukon GT

So I just go this truck and stock it pulls 210hp and 300trq. Sadly it is automatic, :(. But it is still a cool truck in my opinion, no matter how bad it is beat up.

So to the point. I was searching online for the specs on my truck and I saw how much HP and TRQ it pulls stock. Now I am wondering how much it can pull since it has headers, a Flowmaster 40, edelbrock performance tbi intake manifold, a bypass AC pulley. I would love to find out on a dyno but I dont know anyone with one or what shops would let me use it.

What do you guys think. Maybe like 5-10 HP gain or ???

I am kind of a newbie so yeah.

not much gains on those mods, but better then nothing.
OBD1s (tbi) can get tuned, but in reality you get a chip burnt for your truck.. Finding someone whos good at it is near impossible unless you do it yourself..

Do some TB mods (porting and shaving), cai, supercharger..

Well I just got the truck and everything inside of it is about 3-5 years old and not planing on adding a new engine. I will after I fix all the cosmetic issues with it.

Better heads, TBI, chip, real exhaust, cam, std bolt ones really and you'll hit the 300 mark easily.

Remember, unless your motors rebuilt some what recent, you also have naturally lost horsepower due to high miles and age (and if regular maintenance was never done)

There are "tunes" for the OBD1 trucks (PCM4Less) but they are chips. You can reach the 300-400 range in the TBI/OBD1 trucks, but it's not as easy as the 4.8/5.3/6.0 motors. Also, the 6.0's are a good motor for boost. They respond to boost (turbocharged to be specific) well and are good motors for them.

You'll really need a rebuild/build up to hit 300hp on a TBI truck. I'll need some minor bolt on's and a good tune to hit 300 rear wheel horsepower

you can deff reach 3 to 400, but with lots of work and tuning! not really worth it by the time you spend all that money trying to get a TBI to run good, you can hit up the junkyard for a 5.3 for a fractionnn of the cost of getting a tbi to run good.

Yeah the tuck has like 40,0000 on engine and trans. and has gotten everything else mechanical new or new-to-me.

The headers are ****** pro comp headers as I have just found out.

Check out the links below, I know your not in the market for a motor but, this will give you an idea of what is possible from a 350TBI. I was going to get a motor from them for my 95' before I found my 99'. The 95' will be for sale after I get the 99' back from the local Off-Road shop next week. I already have a buyer and a backup buyer waiting in line. The 2-doors are popular vehicles and easily sell if you take care of them and keep them in good shape.

300HP-400HP at the crankshaft, or how much he'd actually be putting down on the road through RWHP?

I beleive that is crank HP. Depending on the model/year of the 5.3 they range from 290 to 320 to the crank stock. The 6.0 range from 300 to 367 also, depending on the model/year.

Getting HP out of one of these motors is very easy.

To the OP, you might be lucky to have what was available stock. Do an LS swap instead of invest in a new motor.

Yes that's correct at the cam... my 350 is rated 255 hp at the crank but these bad boys struggle to put 180hp down...

Exactly, crank numbers sound great but it is depressing seeing the RWHP numbers after going through the transmission, transfer case and to the rear wheels.
My max RWHP on the dyno was 198 and 253 tq and my truck runs real good.
Of course I haven't dynoed since I installed some more stuff.

I would guess stock numbers to be 180-190

From their site: please remember we are one of the few in the country that can dyno test TBI (throttle body injection) engines, and TPI (tune port injection) engines.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OK stay away from them, they are obviously smoking crack in between building engines.

Most everyone that sells something on the internet makes some sort of outrageous claim but, with you being an Elite member and all, I guess I shouldn't disagree.
They are a Top Rated Seller on Ebay with 100% Positive Feedback. Anyone who's familiar with Ebay knows you don't get that kind of rating without doing something right. I've actually spoken to them on the phone and the guy I talked to was very knowledgeable about engines. My guess would be he's not the website designer or the the one creating the ads, But I'm sure you'll find a sophomorish response for that too.
