Ok, here's the deal. As I do some preliminary shopping for rims I have a line on some 22" gunmetal tbss reps and I've found some good deals on chrome rims as well (both aftermarket and oem). I've always liked the gunmetal tbss reps but that'd mean most likely completely changing my front end to match and I like my billet inserts and bowties.

So what does TYF think? Should I go chrome or no chrome? I'm having a hard time visualizing the front grille with no chrome (even around the edge) on a maroon ride :hmm:

I honestly think you can't go wrong either way, just stay away from black IMO.... I personally think that chrome looks good on burgundy but in the right amount. For example:

However! I am not a fan of the chrome bowtie on your truck. Nor am I a fan of the horizontal billet grill but that's just me. I think the standard ltz weave grill would look amazing. Chrome tow hooks and then a different color bowtie other than gold or burgundy.

So....

Get chrome wheels. More class. Go OEM son.

Like I said... Stay away from black:

Gunmetal and maroon go very well together ... but I also don't know how you'd make the front end work. I guess you'd have to maroon the chrome grille surround and paint the grille and bowtie gunmental, or some other combo of those, and it still might look odd.

So chrome by default I guess, but really the best option, that would need no other changes, and would look awesome, would be TBSS 22s in polished/brushed finish.

Thanks for the insight, Ben :waytogo: no worries about going with black rims on mine. Definitely would not look right. :)

nothing but chrome or polished would look good on that truck. gunmetal is just too dark and the maroon is dark as is, it would look worse.

Different taste for different folks but I say chrome all the way on your color. Maroon and chrome looks so good. That first pic of that NBS Tahoe is so damn sexy.

 I have been pricing the difference between a 20 and 22 tire and there does seem to be considerable difference but she doesn't have to know that  with the right deal I won't need new tires for a couple years anyway. Most deals I'm finding include tires with good tread.

but are they GOOD tires with GOOD tread? Or generic?

And yes, she does have to know that, because when she asks, you being the good husband you are, won't lie. :)

The TBSS reps have Nitto 420's on them with deep tread on them. The others I've got on my "list" are mostly bridgestone and Goodyear. I think one might have khumo's on them

...and you're right I won't lie because eventually I'll get caught as I'm a terrible liar but I've got ways of buttering her up prior to the convo pertaining to expensive tire replacement :D
