towing a 30 ft camper

thinking about getting a 30ft camper for the deer camp. it weights about 6800 lbs. im about 75 miles from my camp. im only going to tow it down at the begin of the hunting season and leaving it down there. i will tow it back home at the end of the season. will i blow up my truck or not??

I would rent something beefy, or get a pal with a diesel truck to do it for you and buy him dinner or something.

i say go for it. Grab a set of the firestone air helper bags for the rear and bring a tool box with ya! haha ive seen way worse

I bought a 96 2 door with a blown engine and towed it home on a rented equipment trailer,It was very stupid and I would not attempt that much weight again!
Without a WDH and electric brakes.

My previous 07 Tahoe LTZ towed our 2010 Coachman Freedom Express 290BHS Travel Trailer with zero issues. When loaded it had a total weight around 7500lbs. The WDH leveled things off and reduced the sway.

Understandable but I was also considering the burden of stress on the drivetrain. You can do some damage with that much weight.

Here's my ride with a rented 30' bunkhouse and slide, with weight distribution hitch.... Alittle sag but I think as long as you don't drive like you stole it and take off easy you should be fine...
