can i use my buffer to remove wax?

i am in the middle of detailing my girlfriends denali and i am wondering if i can use the buffer to remove the wax once it is applied and dried? this would make my life and my back much happier

yes you can....you should be using more then one pad on your buffer anyways

how many sections would you say 1 pad will do? one door? two doors? i have plenty of pads, already used 6 polishing the truck this morning, now i am waxing and i am ******* tired!

I use one pad for each product and do the whole truck with one for each, just clean them after each use, and i don't like to mix products on the pads, i have one dedicated for Adam's SHR one for PB SSR you get the idea.

I use a terry cloth cover and a wool pad. Put the wool pad on the buffer and the terry cloth cover over it, to take off the polish and wax residue. (using different cloths for each, of course)

same pad for the entire truck...just, different pads for different products...


you use one pad for "cutting"? compound on the entire truck, to build up the wax...then you use another softer pad for the polish...to make it shine

you dont ever wanna do any of this in the middle of the day....the sun bakes the compounds onto the vehicle...not good for it


you should really be buffing later in the day when its cooling off...you'll get much better results

Oh i wouldnt ever do it in the sun... ive been in my garage all day, but its still far from cool outside!! i wont be able to get this done in decent weather untill october or november

plus, out here in Oklahoma...the weather is rediculous...they have storms all year long..even in the damn summer.......

everytime I try to wash, clean, buff and wax my truck...it storms within the next 1-2 weeks... -_-

oh yea... we are supposed to get rain on thursday and friday, but the truck needed it so bad, it was dry and spider webby... well, anyways, im all done now... here are some pics, 1st is before anything, 2nd is after cley bar and polish, third is the final product

this specs in the last pictures is just loose wax that i had not blown off yet...

When the paint is preped right the wax comes off pretty easy. I wipe a terry cloth towel over it to remove the bulk of the wax, then a wool bonnet on my buffer to make it shine.

I apply my wax by hand, litterally... I dont use an applicator, i use my bare ass hands, but doing it this way makes it dificult to get it thin, it lays of pretty thick this way.
