Best route to get leveled - 2" rear drop on NNBS LTZ w/ AutoRide

OK, I have a 2008 Tahoe LTZ with AutoRide so what do I need to do exactly to achieve a leveled/cleaner look without messing with my front suspension and retaining the best ride? Do I just need springs? If so, when I change them, will my ride quality be worse then stock? I'm ready to pull the trigger on this but I haven't done it because of the AutoRide issue with the air compressor airing up more then it needs after modifying the suspension. I hear belltech is the best for this, does anyone disagree? Thanks for the input/help guys, it's truly appreciated.

I think this is the best subtle modification vehicle attitude wise whilst keeping the truck oem overall, I regret not doing this myself instead of the more significant 2-3/4 which looks beautiful but who's ride quality I was not satisfied with.

Really interested to see this develop ... who knows, I might be tempted to join you.

All he's told me so far was they are DJM's so that should limit it pretty good. He also quoted me 175 shipped to me so very reasonable as well I don't have a part number yet but do hope to get these in the near future.

Belltech says the 3-4 kit is a 2-3 with autoride and the BT would ride better then DJM

ive doen tons of the 2/4 kit and ride is great on autoride but main thing is the rear bumpstop bracket. if you dont cut that bracket off if you go more than 3 inches honeslty ride suffers becuase of no travel.


now on your AUTORIDE truck this kit will actaully give you about 2.5-3.5 and ride is great.

now for your drop what I would do is put the 1 inch spacer which comes with the kit slap in the springs and adjust the autoride links (new one comes with kit) and your ready to roll.

the belltech kit will give 2.5-3.5 but you can adjust the sensors to bring it up to a 2 inch level which i linked up above

Felix, we have 2" spindles up front which did absolutely NOTHING to alter the ride. Just sets the wheel hub 2" higher into the fender. Don't be afraid to drop the front 2", u will NOT notice any difference at all.

Um hello? Have you not seen my truck? Beltech 2/3 kit. The beltech kit came with rods for the autoride. Of course i didnt use it cause i dont have it. As for the front, Everything stays the same. Theres no added or changed angles to the suspension. As you can see in the comparison of spindles, the wheel just sits higher into the wheel well. Everything stays the same as teh stock spindle. Hope that helps

done it myself. I have access to a lift and all my tools are at my work and i gave myself a alignment after too. Also it depends what size tires you gonna use as your gonna need to trim the Upper and lower ball joint studs if you have 4x4 and if you plan on using any rims size smaller than 20.

I'll eventually end up in a 20" rim. Would I need to trim even with that rim? If so, sounds like if I, too, went with a 2/4 or 2/3 drop I'd need to get rims first then look at the drop, right? Also, my tools consist of an assortment of sockets, and other very wrenches and screwdrivers. Are there any "specialty" tools that you needed to use? I have nothing "fancy" like impact wrenches or anything like that but can do quite a bit myself and do have a bit of mechanical ability.

impact will make it a lot easier. No specialty tools needed except for patience

I am working on video I did when I installed my 2/3-4. I did springs and struts so the front won't help but the rear should be the same, although I don't have auto ride. I will try to post the video today.
