you might as well go with the Corsa Touring and followed by a K&N 63-3058 Air Charger Intake or Volant CAI for performance mods... THEN get the edge.. makes more sense huh?

The order doesn't really matter other than doing the edge last so that you get a tune that takes into account all your other performance mods.

This was the order I was talking about. Also, the corsa touring is one of the better exhaust setups IMO.

I would skip all that first and regear. You'll see next to nothing with those mods compaired to a regear...

If he gets a tune he'll 'see next to nothing' unless he regears??? That's the exact opposite of what I've ever heard from other folks who've gotten Blackbear tunes!

Why is a regear necessary for a blackbear tune to work effectively? I've never heard of needing to this before and most everyone I've heard have notice huge gains with the tune without needing to regear....

We arent sayin its necessary but it will net more power then the tune alone. Running 35s is borderline with 4.10s. Now with 4.56s it puts you in a better range of power to get the tires rollin. Now gears and a tune will be even better.

I don't disagree with that at all and that makes sense but it was said in a previous post that "I would skip all that first and regear. You'll see next to nothing with those mods compaired to a regear" as in the BB tune would essentially be a waste of money without a regear and I completely disagree with that. Yes, regearing is always a good mod especially if you've got a lifted truck or if the gears you've currently got pretty poor ratio (i.e. 3.23's) but if it came with 3.73's (for instance) and he's not lifted then regearing is more up to personal taste IMO and by no means is a BB tune a waste of money JUST because the OP hasn't regeared.

With that said, the CAI, Exhaust and stuff like that won't necessarily give you huge gains (especially on a largely stock motor) but are good pieces to the puzzle when done in conjunction with other mods such as a tune. But by themselves could indeed be considered a "waste of money" by some.

If he has 3.23's and 35's with a tune, the same truck with 4.56 gears will be alot faster with gears alone...

But he prob does have 3.73 gears since its a z71..
After a gear swap you would need a retune for the gear change anyways so i guess your just reading into it more...Plus he said he was thinkin about an edge tuner so yes gears would gain more than what was listed :bleh:

I had 285/70/17's on my silverado and it was a turd with 3.73's i cant imagine 35's lol

 I'd forgotten that he stated thinking about an Edge tune!! :) Did you have a tune on your Silverado and was it the 5.3 or 4.8 motor? If it was the 4.8 you might as well just save your breath unless it's a RCSB. That 4.8 is a snail. :whymewhyme:

I think a lot of the reason that these GM trucks and SUVs don't have much get up and go stock off the "showroom floor" is that dang Fuel Management system. It really drains your acceleration cuz it's spending it's time trying to make sure you get the best MPG you can. Well, sometimes you just don't care about that and you wanna get moving down the road. With a good tune that junk is wiped off there and therefore wakes it up considerable not to mention the other mods that are done to the computer to kick up the performance.

This has turned into a great discussion :waytogo: I'm likin' it :)

X2 what Andrew said! Definitely better options out there over Edge.
