Son of a Buck !! Servicing everything on my 2013... forgot about all the steps
to get exhaust off and all that crap to get the pan off for trans service
My 14 with headers & kooks Y pipe w O2's is a breeze.. Don't have to touch the
anything but the pan itself... Headers can be a pita to do... but I love mine
This 13 is going to stay stock... I can't believe how much headers have increased $$$$
in the last 5 years

I ran into the same problem with the exhaust nuts. I was removing the engine and just left the exhaust manifold's on the pipes then with the engine out used a side grinder and cut the studs.
Maybe you could use a Dremal to cut the studs? PITA for sure.

I let them soak overnight in PB blaster... And the driver side I even
put heat to the 1 that won't come off....
There really wasn't any rustyness to any of them... I'm kinda surprised
the 2 are being so difficult
I think some of the issue is that you can't get a straight on 1/2" deep well
socket on them due to the cats' ... have to use a wobble of some type
I've tried everything in my toolbox...
And I'm on a 4 post lift !!!

I ordered a nut extractor socket set from amazon.. I'll try it on the stripped one
The other one I guess I'll soak it some more and try heat as well... again and
hope for the best

I run a ratchet strap around the exhaust pipe and the cross member and ratchet it down until the pan clears. Saves lots of time. There's enough give in the pipe.
I saw that on another thread post while searching... Interesting
Could I do that somehow when it's up on my lift ??

Yes use a 2" ratchet strap loop it over the pipe and back down to the transmission or transfer case cross member so the ratchet is on the cross member and start slowly pulling the exhaust pipe down. This is how I do it every time.

So I need some help...
I've got one 15 mm nut that won't come off on each side...
and the pass side nut is now somewhat stripped
This is sooo annoying.. Just to do a trans service
So stripped not spinning on the stud?

1 on pass side is getting rounded off.
The 1 on the drivers side is fine still... it just won't budge
And that's the type of sockets I ordered ... I made sure it had 15MM size

I have exhaust manifold gaskets and bolts coming monday...
But now you got me scared! Think I'll hold off now!
Don't have wobble sockets yet.. Everytime I impact a u-joint, the U joint and socket fly off..

The GMT-800 might have more space though. Cats are further downstream...

I have done several now on Jack Stands, I wrap a ratchet strap from the exhaust pipe down to the passenger side jack stand base and pull the pipe down towards the jack stand until I have the needed clearance. It has worked several times so far and is much faster than messing with the exhaust manifold bolts. It is also out of the way while you do the job. Be smart don't crank it down till you bend or break something.

astro tools sells a setup of half size. metric sockets.. say like 14.5mm.

if you can hammer than on a slightly rounded nut, you might get lucky.

That's exactly the issue.. The cats are right up there only a few inches downstream
of the flange
