I had a few defects I wanted addressed (outline of airbag/wrinkle in dash leather, tear in liftgate seal, defect in rear passenger door vent window tint). Skipped the first issue as I didn't want them tearing out my dash but for the window fix, the auto glass company that the dealer uses somehow had a tool slip and it messed up the paint and dented the exterior above the rear cargo passenger window near the roofline. Dealer told me truck was done and I could pick it up but I'd need to go to a body shop for the work as they don't do that. I told them I dropped the truck off in perfect condition and it's not my problem; they need to make it right. They told me to call the glass company and work it out (which I did). I picked up my truck at the dealer a couple of days later once I got confirm from the glass company they were at fault and they would cover the damages; upon inspection at pick-up (i made the service manager do a walk around with me) I opened the tailgate to look inside and the glass guy somehow screwed up all the plastic around the passenger trunk side as well as tore the headliner.
Long story short; truck needed body work for paint and dents as well as full replacement of headliner and interior plastic pieces in cargo area. My body shop did as good a job as you could expect but nothing is ever 100% perfect. Here's a
link to my original post about this; the damages ended up coming to close to 10k (original estimate in post was around 7k) and my mileage at the time was a bit off (I said about 300 or so in this post but it was actually closer to 700).
Fun fact: I had an open case with Chevy as parts were in short supply on my original warranty work; as soon as I mentioned an attorney the rep basically said they can't continue the case anymore and hung up on me.
I considered an attorney but, at the end of the day, I had a young toddler (reason why I bought the truck in the first place), repairs were scheduled and being paid for, and MSRP was still climbing regularly on these vehicles and I didn't want to lose a truck I'd waited over a year to locate and possibly have to put more money into to get into a new one.
My disappointment in Chevy, the dealer (long-time local dealer but not where I bought the truck), and quality has reinforced my decision to never buy another.
