SOS SOS HELP NEEDED (SOLVED)

I need assistance. In the photos above show my old steering column. Anyways, I swapped it out because the mf was being weird and someone recommended to me to swap it. So i do just that. Now this wire in my fingers is from the old steering column but on the new one that wire, the prongs, broke and now my truck won’t shift out of reverse or neutral. (When I installed it, it wouldn’t go into park, well originally I said oh okay that’s fine. Because I can just put it in neutral and be fine) well I was wrong and now my truck may be cooked unless anyone has a better answer for me.

Yesterday I figured out the issue. So, one I installed the steering column incorrectly and had the shift wire incorrectly placed. So, I swapped the new upper wire and made sure to install it correctly. On top of that I didn’t hook up the plastic catch piece to the metal catch piece to add tension to the wire. Also I spliced the wire correctly from the old steering column.

Not really sure what you're asking but if you’re saying you can’t plug the connector together because the male end is broken, and that’s preventing you from shifting in/out and to/from park, neutral, etc….cut the connector off both sides and splice the wires directly together, color for color, If you need to extend the wires do so, Solder and tape and be done.

Could you cut the connector off the old column harness and solder the pigtail onto the new one?

All 3 recommendations are feasible. Seems pretty straight forward, unless I am missing something that you said or mean. What year, model and options were with the swap in steering column.

its sorta a bucket right now. I know I may get hate for this but I plan on repainting it either black with rainbow sparkles or Purple, cateye front end swapping it, long tube headers, TBSS intake, 3in catback exhaust with 5in tips, and hopefully a big beefy cam sitting on either chrome 20s or 22s.

Possibly. Plan on going through it later this week.

I figured out my issue. The truck’s shifter cable is either ****** or loose. Got it to work this morning and didn’t think nothing of it and went to drive it around today. Work all day until I decided to go to the junk yard. I’ll have to either replace it or retighten if possible.

Original problem: dash and truck not displaying P, D, 3, 2, or 1,

Solution: retighten cable if possible, or replace entirely.
