Good evening, so I know there are plenty of threads for this but most are a little outdated. My 2016 Chevy Tahoe now has 160k, shocks feel like they are done for. Did some research and most are either super expensive or say they are for without Magnaride. I did howver find these. are these good? They seem way too cheap. They dont specify of they are for magna ride or not.

the 5100's or 4600's are commonly used for non magride, or with a magride delete but if doing a magride delete you'll want stiffer springs on the rear like moog, there really isn't another close spring replacement unless you get some oem ones from a non magride vehicle

Those are for degrading your great riding suspension to a "dumb", non-computerized suspension. Sure, it costs less, but ask around and you'll see a great many folks who did this eventually restored the suspension back to original.

If you're riding on 18" wheels they'll feel fine but not with larger diameter wheels with shorter tire sidewall. To each his own.

Remember the old saying, "You get what you pay for, AT BEST".

Go to GMPartsDirect.com and enter your vin. Then, match the secondary suspension RPO codes to the RPO code sticker on your truck.

If you want a passive suspension for any reason, many folks here use Bilstein shocks, but as stated above, you will need to replace the rear springs with stronger/stiffer ones.

New OEM GM shocks will come with a lifetime warranty IIRC. However, they do not come loaded, you will need to swap the spring (dangerous) or have a shop with the proper tools swap the springs for you. I didn't want to go through the hassle and went with Arnotts, which are quality magnaride shocks, but they come preloaded so it was an easy swap, rather then a pull, run into town, get the springs swapped, then go back home and finish the job. If the Arnotts fail, i may go with the GM option next time. but for now, I'll see how long they last since our burb is primarily a weekend cruiser

the oem shocks have a separate 3 digit alphanumeric code, which will be listed in your rpo code list, which may be on a sticker in the glove box or you may have to scan the qr code in the door jamb or ask a gm dealer to print it out for you.

How bad would it be to only buy front shock absorber that is leaking as supposed to buying both?

How bad would it be to buy only one new shoe, to replace the one with a hole in it?
Only you have any idea how worn out the other one is. Just remember, the other one will eventually need replacing and it will NOT get any cheaper.

Well did the shock absorbers, both front drivers side was a breeze, passenger side...kicked my ass. Instant difference feels so much better front sits higher than before. I imagine it will for a few days.
