Has anyone been able to see their pico results? I'm interested to see what passing criteria is compared to my results. Passing with flying colors or just made the hurdle? Not sure if it works that way....
From what I've seen on here, it's literally just a Pass/Fail. There is no score or range or anything like that. Based on the video that was posted showing the inspection procedure and result, it looks like the technician sees a screen that just says "Pass", so I'm not sure they are even provided the details (or trained) to give you more info than that.

then you will never get pleasure from a modern car
I'm sticking with the 6.2 for my 2026 Yukon order. Have certainly taken bigger bets than this in my life. 800,000 engines, maybe 20,000 affected. Even if those numbers are incorrect by GM I'll take the odds for the driving experience. New engines for 2027, in 2029 I'll take another look.

I haven't seen a lot of reports of new failures lately, so that makes me wonder if the majority of engines that are going to fail have already done so. I have no actual facts to support that conclusion though.....

Everybody passes the test. Gm had to show it’s doing something. Shame on highway safety board for approving the pico test as a remedy.
It’s going to be interesting when some of the “passed recall pico tests” fail in the real world.

This is what they gave me after I passed mine...

Not sure what the "0.90" means at the end of the "Recall #N252494000 9107931 0.90" line or what the "... all ok nwo" means on the next line.

My guess - it's simply a pass/fail and doesn't have significant meaning other than all or nothing.

What proof is there that "Everybody passes the test;" that's about as truthful as "Nobody passes the test." Seen any numbers either way?

Where can we find specific information about what procedure the NHTSA uses to "approve" a proposed remedy? Do they even do that?

Update --
I received my Second letter last Saturday 8/9/25, and then I called the local dealers (GMC, Chevy) to ask how many tests have they done; how many Engines had they replaced; did they offer a Loaner IF I failed....
One Service manager I spoke to was optimistic regarding my Yukon, at 29,500 miles. He said most failures were 15k or less miles.

Made appointment for today, 8/13/25 - Completed!
Ok, it PASSED.. .no Pico-scope report as others have said. Just got paperwork saying oil change, new filter and NEW CAP! No insert for the manual (unless they put it in, back in the glove box?). And of course, the dealer suggested all these additional repairs (to make some money, no doubt).. tire rotate & rebalancing ($99, outrageous); 4 Wheel alignment ($169); Fuel Induction (huh?) $249... I declined all, as I've had tires rotated, etc..

Dealership had the vehicle 4 1/2 hours; drove 4 miles, and used maybe 1/8 of a tank of gas... I know they have to run it for the testing; I get that.

I’m referring to the poll I’ve taken here. I’ve asked the question several times on this forum. Not one first hand account of an engine replacement because of a failed pico test. Lots of dealer said this and that. No it’s not scientific but I have not heard of one yet. We have allot of passes here so far. If somebody is getting a new motor for a failed test please speak up.
Of course it’s approved. Gm had to come up with something to satisfy NHTSA.

I would assume the "0.90" refers to the estimated labor time for the inspection procedure (labor operation 9107931) as per the below document:

Maybe the "nwo" means "no work order" or something along those lines? Agree - I think it's pass/fail, nothing more.

I don't see anything in their recall documentation that show a specific "approval" process. So I'd read it to be "tacit" approval as the mfr. responds to the recall requirements.

All the mfr. has to do is one of three remedies; how it's done is left to the mfr., but the remedy does need to be stated for the recall.

I think a more targeted approach might be to start a thread with a poll. Have the members select one mutually exclusive answer of three or four, whatever, depending on what kind of info you'd like to see.

For example: Select the experience you've had with your vehicle that's in the recent 6.2L recall, then add some vehicle info (year, miles, etc.) in a following post:
- Passed PICO test
- Failed PICO test, have received new engine or am awaiting replacement
- etc.

Would anyone be interested if I started a crowd sourced google sheet for anyone that wants to add their oil analysis as a reference point?

I supposed we could have a tab/sheet if your vehicle passes/failed the test so people wouldn’t have to go through hundreds of pages of wandering conversations to see how things are trending.

Yes, that is good. Better than the alternate possibility anyway.
